Shamiah + Pascal are from Canada, but are on a mission to see the world through their travels. They’ve been to Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China and many other amazing destinations, but for these travel bugs, there is still so much to see. They take a month off of work every year to discover a new place together, so it only made sense that their wedding day would also fuel their sense of adventure and be in an exciting, new-to-them location. One day while researching San Francisco (a city they’ve always wanted to see) they came across Yosemite and immediately knew it would be the perfect place to exchange their vows. Once inside the amazing national park with their photographer, Samantha Smith Arroyo, they hiked to Taft Point and decided that the edge of a 1,000ft drop was a perfect place to say their I Dos! We’re going to have to agree! It looks beyond amazing to us…
From Shamiah, We didn’t stress with the advance planning (as there wasn’t much) and we didn’t worry about how the day would turn out. We just went with the flow and embraced every second of our wedding day. This is the best advice we can give.
Without a doubt, it was when we walked out of the woods and approached the opening of Taft Point. We had never been to Yosemite National Park before and had no idea what the hike would be like. As we approached the edge of the cliff, we both instantaneously knew that this was the spot where we would marry. We will both never forget that feeling.
Breathtaking in every sense of the word! We’re pretty much wowed.
We adore Shamiah’s sweet bridal look! That Le Fou by Wilfred dress was just perfect.
And don’t miss their sweet wedding film by Arroyo Films!
Spend time researching how you want to get married, and come up with something that fits and really represents you as a couple. In our case, we knew we wanted to be out in nature. Find a photographer that shoots a style of wedding photos that excite you. We wanted photographers that could represent us naturally and demonstrate our link with the wilderness. Although we had chosen to elope, we still wanted to document our wedding day and share it with our families. Chose photographers to help your carry out our plans.
Lastly, try not to stress. It is such a magical day. Just let everything fall into place. It will.
