Having a winter wedding isn’t the most popular idea for most couples, but Love Is a Big Deal is here today to help inspire couples that winter weddings can be just as beautiful as a summer wedding. Even though I’m not a fan of the cold, I have to agree that there is something super romantic about getting warm and cozy with the one you love. With Wisconsin as the perfect backdrop, the team chose deep reds and buffalo plaid to pop through the winter white. And there’s no reason to go black-tie and super formal either. Find a rustic cabin or barn, get a fire started and keep it sweet and casual.
LOVE her gorgeous Winifred Bean wedding gown and the red sweater is just the perfect pop of color!

this is LOVELY!!!
Oh, yay! Thank you so much for posting this today. I’m planning a December 2012 wedding in Pennsylvania, and I’m hitting a wall trying to find great winter wedding inspiration. There are some great details here that will work with our “old-fashioned winter/Christmas” theme. We’re trying to stay away from making Christmas our main focus (because we don’t want to take away from the holiday itself as well as the celebrations that surround it), but we do love the lanterns, dried fruit & evergreen, muted colors look. Lots to pick through in this post and it gave me hope we can pull our theme off! Thanks so much! :)
love love this shoot…the pops of red and tartan pattern!
Beautiful!
LOVE the red cardigan.
I ♥ Winter Weddings! And this inspiration shoot is gorge! There’s something so romantic about a snow capped wedding – and the light makes for some incredible photos!
I would love to know where the necklace is from…it’s fabulous!
I’d like to know where the necklace is from as well!
Love love love the red theme, so cosy & romantic x
Oh my goodness, I love everything about this styled shoot! The poofy dress w/ the red cardigan, those fun snow boots, and that adorable cosy hat!! So, so pretty!:)
We just had our California winter inspired wedding at a historic lemon ranch December 3rd. Nothing like a cozy fireplace, relaxed lodge and warm beverages to set an intimate and festive mood – even minus the snow!
This Winter Wedding is looking Awesome, and the Wedding Pictures are so good amazing photography work. Thanks for Sharing..
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! It makes me miss the snow (no snow here in SoCal)! The red is the perfect pop! I also must also say the grooms tie is to die for :)
Beautiful all red theme are among my fave looks! Lovely wedding.
That tie is the business!! My favorite detail!
I am getting married next month in one of the coldest cities in the world… And my fiancé and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re both REALLY looking forward to the outdoor pictures. This inspiration shoot makes me want to incorporate some red into our outerwear.
I think the red cardi over the dress looks really cute – what a great idea!
I love this beautiful wedding! It has a very warm and cozy feeling in the midst of the freezing snow! While I myself love the red dress, for those who like the traditional white dress, I would go with a bright blue color instead. The blue would be seen as more innocent than the red but also have less of a Christmas feel if the wedding is after Christmas time. Also, you could do colorful rain boots if you didn’t like the snow boots. The tree stumps as seats were a great idea!
Beautiful colors and photography on these images. Love that red against the white.
Love her jewelry and the red is just amazing and vibrant, so beautiful!
My husband and I just tied the knot on December 31, 2011! It was all glitter and sparkles, and I highly recommend both winter weddings and New Year’s glamour. It was the best day of my life!
I just got married on December 30th and also sported some cozy snow boots for my photo shoot! =) I threw in a circle scarf and some fun gloves too. Our wedding also went away from the traditional soft winter colors…we used bright colors everywhere we could. Pops of color and lots of pine tree decor = warm and whimsical. I highly recommend a winter wedding…our honeymoon in snowy Whistler, BC could not have been more romantic! Enjoy ladies!
Glad you all love the shoot! It was so fun to style! The necklace that some have expressed interest in is actually a custom designer that a family friend of ours works with out of China (although we typically work with local vendors and service providers). All designs are easy to duplicate and one can be ordered and shipped within several weeks. Price is very reasonable and if any are interested don’t hesitate to contact us! Cheers! -Sunshine Daydream Events
Oh, my goodness, what a perfectly beautiful scene! Thank you for sharing. I hope y’all are having a sweet day.

What an unforgettable wedding…Made for each other’s…
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me where she bought the sweater/who is the designer? Having a fall red wedding and this is exactly what I am looking for! Thank you
I love this! Planning a winer wedding for January of 2014 and would love to see more winter wedding inspiration!
I LOVE this! I am getting married this December 26th in NYC! Can’t wait! ❤️
I’m planning a northern Michigan winter elopement! Our private ceremony will be in the middle of the woods, with dinner with family at a local restaurant afterwards. I have an ethereal tulle gown and a dusty blue peacoat to stay warm. Silver, charcoal, and dusty blue are the colors we chose and we hope it comes together. We can’t wait!
