Whimsical Washington Barn Wedding: Jodi + Cameron

Washington Barn Wedding

Jodi + Cameron are a pretty happy-go-lucky duo, so not even the threat of gray, spring rain could get them down on their wedding day. Though their optimistic personalities may have hoped for sunshine and blue skies, Jodi says, Something inside us cherished the beautiful Pacific Northwest day.

Friends + family lent their helping hands along the way as these two planned their dream celebration over the course of six months. They are both very much inspired by nature and the great outdoors and wanted their day to have a woodsy-meets-whimsical feel. They tell us, We wanted it to be elegant yet casual, and we wanted it to be a reflection of us as much as possible. A day full of merriment, joyful dancing, good music, and of course a delicious feast! And that detail was one of the easiest to execute, since Jodi’s parents own one of the best local catering companies in town, Twelve Baskets Catering!

Thanks so much to Green Ginger Photography for the lovely photos!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

There were too many to pick only one, but I'd say the "parade/caravan" from our ceremony site to the reception site, which were 1 mile apart from each other down a country road. It was so much fun to have our wedding party on a cute antique trailer with with live music and singing from our bridal party, pulled by a tractor, followed by the 100+ cars filled with our friends and family waving homemade ribbon batons out of their windows was a pretty memorable sight! Not to mention, it was during the first hour of being married to my best friend!

Guests were greeted at Dairyland with delicious appetizers provided by Twelve Baskets Catering and swingin’ 1920s tunes performed by the Greg Ruby Quartet. Jodi says, This was a fantastic way to kickoff the rest of the merry evening, filled with lovely company, a bountiful feast, and lots of festive dancing and merriment.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Take time to talk about and write down any priorities that you and your future spouse have for the big day. What do you care MOST about for the day? Although DIY is great, saves money, and allows you to be fully creative, make sure that you choose wisely how much you (and your friends and family) can handle in the amount of time you have before the wedding. Your sanity and free time the week before the wedding are more precious than the extra money you could save on a few items! Also, take time during the wedding to relax and sit with your guests; be sure to greet everyone in some way!
