We don’t get a chance to share many rehearsal dinners here on GWS, so when Michèle M Waite sent this one over (along with the gorgeous wedding!), I couldn’t wait to share it with you lovelies! All the wedding festivities took place at The Resort at Paws Up (also featured in our Top 26 Coolest Places to Get Married) in Greenough, Montana – and it’s pretty much exactly as you’d picture for Montana. :) Such a FUN rehearsal dinner – right on the banks of the Blackfoot river – would definitely love to be a guest at this one. :) Thanks to the Carter & Cook Event Co. ladies for the coordination of this one + to Habitat Floral Studio for the flowers + to the team at The Resort at Paws Up for the catering and activities!
From Lindsay (the bride): Friday night we hosted a Welcome BBQ for all guests on the banks of the Blackfoot river. Guests sat at picnic tables and feasted on typical BBQ fare — brisket, fried chicken, baked beans, grilled corn, and s’more bread pudding. We did a microbrew tasting featuring beers from Bitterroot Brewing Company — the brewery in my dad’s hometown of Hamilton, Montana — and guests went home with customized Bitterroot Brewing Company pint glasses. Lots of Bulliet Bourbon was also served — a favorite of Steve’s [the groom]. Guests were entertained with hatchet throwing (yes, this combined with the beer tasting/bourbon drinking did give me a little scare but the husband really wanted this one), roping lessons, and fly fishing lessons. 10 Foot Tall and 80 Proof kept us dancing with their unique combination of rock, country, and blue grass music!
Big thanks to Michèle M Waite for the photos and be sure to check out their gorgeous wedding too!
I love the pseudo tenting! What is that called and how can I find it?
Awesome rehearsal dinner.
I also love the tenting. Did you guys do this yourself? Details please! :)
It’s nice to see darling pics of their rehearsal dinner! A wedding detail that usually isn’t documented very well but should be :)
This is amazing! I love the look of this, it’s very different and totally unique. I love it when brides keep it rustic and real

What a lovely and simple engagement shoot! Beautiful and fun! :)
Everything about this is wonderful! We are also getting married in Montana in a few months and having a bbq by the river for our welcome dinner. Seeing this weekend has helped me remember what its all about – fun and the people you love!
Do you know who made the wooden welcome sign? I would love to have something similar made. Thanks for the inspiration!
Kate: Thanks for your nice comments. The sign was made by Red Horse Signs (http://redhorsesigns.com/) who were great and very easy to work with. Good luck planning!
I LOVE IT! This should have been the wedding. It was so elaborate!
I love the rustic look of this rehearsal dinner. it has a fun casual feel to it but plenty of personality!
Looks like a lot of fun!
I love this wedding tent! Can you please provide details on how you went about this set up? thank you
