Vintage Swedish Wedding: Karoline + Patric

sweden bride and groom

Karoline + Patric are a laid-back couple who wanted a day that was simple, relaxed + personal. As lovers of all things thrifted + vintage, they knew they wanted to incorporate lots of antique furniture items they purchased together specifically for their wedding, and also bring along their favorite collectibles from their home to further illustrate an intimate vibe. I love how they were able to craft a day that had such a great vintage-meets-industrial feel, and I’m sure it will serve as inspiration for all of you who are planning a wedding with a similar style!

Karoline + Patric, congratulations on a beautiful day + thank you to Frida Iveskär for sharing these images with us!

Let’s talk about Karoline’s dress! She actually purchased it almost two years ago, because as soon as she saw it she fell in love + knew she wanted to wear it on her wedding day. It was part of the conscious collection (spring 2012) from H&M. Such a perfect find, right?!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Everything was perfect. I can´t pick one thing that was most memorable. I remember everything but at the same time, nothing. It was so much to take in, in such a short time. I remember the ceremony when I was crying constantly during the songs. I remember all the fun and beautiful speeches, especially the speech from Patric's twin brother - everybody was crying, even those who don´t know us so well. It was sad, but so beautiful. Thank you, Magnus! I remember all the spontaneous songs and dances, and of course how fantastic and fun our toastmaster and toastmadame made our wedding day. One of the best days in our life!

hanging black feathers

The feathers hanging overhead is such a cool touch. And I love that they kept all of the reception furniture white. Within the white walls of their venue, Stora Holms Säteri, it creates the perfect vintage-elcletic vibe…

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

My advice for those who are planning a wedding is to think about it as a fun thing, not something hectic and tough. We planned our wedding in three months! We made it simple and personal, and it became one of the best days in our life. The most important thing is that you are getting married and that you can celebrate it with your family and friends! What happens happens!
