Vintage Shop Owners' Engagement Photos at World Famous Crochet Museum

Let’s round off this Tuesday with some color + charm, yes?! Meet Jaimee + Adam, owners of mobile clothing shop, Coast to Coast Vintage. These love birds have a super fun engagement story (which we’ll get to – just wait!) & planned a super fun engagement photo session with Jenn Emerling to capture all the…yep, FUN! We have a feeling you’re gonna fall for the fashion, quirky colors, and the pure joy in this shoot — not to mention Jaimee + Adam, themselves!

Jenn filled us in on the day: Jaimee + Adam are unlike any other couple I’ve worked with! They wanted to take their engagement photos in the Crochet Museum (a tiny little room FILLED with animals, food, etc. in croched form!) and the Sun Alley Shops around the town of Joshua Tree. I think you’ll love the vibrancy of these two college sweethearts!

What’s not to love – INDEED!

Here’s a little back story from Jaimee: Adam and I have been together for almost 14 years! We met our freshman year of college in 2003 as friends first – driving around our little college town, going to shows and eating fast food together. It only took six months of us hanging out everyday together to realize that we had something real, and special and we have been together almost everyday since then. In that time we have experienced career changes and scenery changes – moving from New York City to Los Angeles and plenty of temporary “homes” in between, while traveling with our cats and my mobile vintage clothing business, Coast to Coast Vintage!

I was the one who did the proposing just this past January in our living room – if it was up to Adam we would have gotten married after the first year of meeting, but I was the one who took forever to feel ready! I felt it was only appropriate that I be the one to propose to this special guy who was incredibly patient and understanding after all these years. I set up a special scene to look like the top of Haleakala Summit in Maui from a memorable vacation we took together and surprised him on a Monday :) He said yes!!

Booking Jenn Emerling as our photographer was a dream because she is mega talented and has an amazing vision! We loved that her photos had personality, color, and a special attention to detail. We wanted to represent the fun and colorful side of the desert, so heading to the site of the World Famous Crochet Museum was a must. Once we were there, it was non-stop inspiration and we had so much fun. We wore all vintage and chose three separate outfits each that matched in their own way but showed our personalities. It was important for us to be able to look back on being exactly who we were in that moment someday – bright and young(ish) and alive! Jenn did an amazing job capturing the joy we felt that day, as well as the fun we have when we’re together.
