I stumbled upon these amazing save the dates the other day – made of vintage handkerchiefs! What a great idea. The bride Alisha (who is also a talented wedding photographer) collected vintage handkerchiefs from friends and etsy, then Erin from lucky luxe printed the designs on each one. What a fun save the date that would be to get in the mail!
If you love this idea, here is another great idea using vintage handkerchiefs as vases for your wedding reception. Emily at Once Wed has the most creative DIY posts! I thought this one was super cute and pretty easy. Read the whole DIY post on Once Wed.
I love those save the dates!!!
These are simply amazing!
OMG, could these be cuter!? I have never seen anything like this! What an amazing way to be eco-chic and memorable to guests … DARLING!!!
I love this idea…so pretty and sentimental…Jen:)
What a great idea! Just posted a link on our blog to yours! Thanks for sharing!
The handkerchiefs are beautiful!
I love this idea!! The vases are adorable! I did not know that handkerchiefs were so popular again. I just went to my friends wedding shower and her mom gave her this gorgeous handkerchief for a shower gift. It even has a hint of blue embroidery on it so now she has her “something blue”. What a great keepsake, it looks heirloom but it is new. Her mom showed me where she got it, “elegantlinenspc” com, look under Handkerchiefs, hers is called “wedding bells”.(thank goodness for the internet!!)
All this got me wondering…as the years go by what do you really have as a keepsake from your wedding day that will last or even be useful?? A plastic cake topper, photos???? Her mom’s idea of the handkerchief and your ideas here have really got me thinking of all the possibilities. You could use your handkerchief at other weddings and occasions to wipe away tears, you could pass it on to your daughter, or even just to take it out on sentimental occasions. It wouldn’t matter if you bought one new, handed one down or found one in a vintage store. It would be a very lasting and useful keepsake. I can’t wait until another one of my friends gets married because I think I finally found the perfect gift! Thanks for your wonderful post.
oh my those adorable handkerchiefs are just so perfect.
What an amazing idea! I love the thought because now everyone has something to wipe their tears with when vows are being exchanged or when the come to the anniversary parties for years to come. I am unfortunately not as gifted in the creative areana so I look to sites like yours for unique keepsakes. I did find another site that I think would be helpful with handkerchiefs with traditional emboidery: "weddinghandkerchiefshop" com has a beautiful selection of with the neatest emblems and monograms that could used as well. I hope this site is as helpful to you as it was to me. Take Care!!
