Jillian + Josh were looking to create an Anthropologie-inspired vintage garden party wedding. Their venue, the Hudson Terrace in New York, was literally transformed into a flower shop – full of vintage accents and countless personal details. So super pretty! Thanks so much to Susan Stripling for the lovely photos + Inspired Goodness for the beautiful event design and big congrats to Jillian + Josh!
Their save the dates were designed to reflect the love Jillian + Josh have for their neighborhood, The West Village and features their favorite companion, Lucy, a loveable basset hound. Invitations were inspired by a simple floral pattern and letterpress printed on ivory paper with sage green, navy blue and daffodil yellow details. {photo above from Inspired Goodness, all others by Susan Stripling}
The ceremony centerpiece was a linen chuppah with strings of orchids surrounding the bride and groom as they recited their vows surrounded by family and friends. Jillian’s grandfather, a rabbi, lead the ceremony. Guests sat in whitewash ballroom chairs with linen accents and wedding programs paid nod to vintage botanical illustrations. Sage greens and white florals accented the aisle with natural ribbon.
The reception décor was designed to incorporate French flower market details and vintage garden accessories. Centerpieces were accented with found objects inspired by Jillian’s reuse of her mother’s wedding dress. Vintage lace ribbon was added to candle holders. Giant glass cloches were placed a top slices of wood, accented with vintage brooches, beads and handkerchiefs to compliment the central floral arrangements encased in glass.
Each place setting was topped with a letterpress printed menu on wood. Table numbers, also on wood grain paper, were held in place by wooden spools of thread. Mason jar and vintage tea tins were filled with colorful floral arrangements to complete the reception décor. As the sun went down, the roof to the venue was retracted and guests celebrated under the evening stars.
At the end of the night, the venue entrance was transformed into a French Flower Market. Buckets of blooms were displayed with signs inviting guests to take a bunch home with them. Ranunculus seeds, (Jillian’s favorite flower) were packaged in special envelopes and passed out to guests as wedding favors. Such a beautiful wedding! Congrats again to Jillian + Josh!!

Wow. This is one of the prettiest NYC weddings I’ve seen in a while. The printed pieces (invitation, program, menu) are exquisite. Such beautiful work. And the centerpieces were so delicate and intricate. I love all the different combinations of flowers and colors.
LOVE this wedding’s vintage inspiration! The flower market touch…those Save the Dates…the cake toppers– amazing! There’s so much personalization in this lovely wedding and the design and incorporation are done so well. And love the French Flower Market idea for the guests. That’s so ingenious! LOOOOVE!!!

I am beyond flattered to have our wedding featured on my favorite wedding blog! I drew so much inspiration from prior posts and found both my incredible wedding designer, Inspired Goodness, and photographer, Susan Stripling, from this blog. My shoes were Manolo Blahnik “Mancia” from 2009 (the year we got engaged). The wonderful feedback means so much to me! Thank you, Jenny, and Green Wedding Shoes.
My standing philosophy is that anyone named Jillian must be amazingly cool! LOL! Gorgeous submission! Such love & the detail shots were amazing!

what a pretty cake too.
Wherever did you find that lovely dress??
i love the chalkboard sign that says “warm wishes”…how is it so perfectly written? was it printed somewhere???
The wedding dress was my mom’s from 1980 with a few tweaks by the original seamstress (who still had swatches of the original lace!) in Boston.
Thank you so much for all of the lovely comments!
