Valentine’s Love Inspired by Paul + Julia Child

julia and paul child love story

I love the love story of Paul + Julia Child, so when this adorable submission popped in my inbox, I was totally smitten. This group of talented vendors wanted to do a Valentine’s feature with a different twist and were inspired by the love story of Paul + Julia, especially this quote from Paul: “You are the butter to my bread, the breath of my life – I love you my darling girl.” If you aren’t familiar with their story, the had a lovely, magical + beautiful relationship. They saw marriage as being part of a team – no I, but we. Every morning they liked to snuggle in bed together for a half hour after the alarm went off – just love that! “We are never not together,” Paul said once, contentedly.” Kind of how my hubby and I are trying to live our life as a married couple. :)

The team created a storyline based on the concept of Paul and Julia’s love story, with a vintage and classic theme. They played on the “You’re the butter to my bread” element by baking petite loaves, topping them with fresh herbs and butter hearts, and wrapping them in bakers twine. James presented them to Emily, along with conversation cookies that conveyed the same message. They kept a French theme present with the black and pink bouquet.

The forest picnic, mailbox full of handmade Valentines, and vintage attire was meant to convey a rustic, classic approach to the Valentine’s Day theme. The photographs tell the story of a young man approaching his love in the forest, presenting her with handmade Valentines and flowers, and walking her to a prepared winter picnic. Emily and James, who are married, were the perfect couple for this shoot as they had no problem staring lovingly into each others eyes!
