The little, white church where Shaylea + Tyler exchanged their vows stood between two blooming fields of yellow wildflowers. They hosted a picnic-style reception on the church’s front lawn + skipped a lot of the formal wedding traditions – like speeches + cake cutting – in favor of just relaxing + visiting with their guests. Shaylea wore a custom, handmade dress paired with fun, yellow shoes from Anthropologie. Long story short, these two really did things their way + we’re loving every bit of it!
From the newlyweds: We wanted to keep our wedding simple and intimate. The ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect…our Pastor gave us wise words, our friend sang a beautiful rendition of “Stay With You” by John Legend and then we said “I do” and kissed! Afterwards we spent the afternoon just hanging out with our guests. We had make-your-own sandwiches, chips, lemonade and iced coffee. We were so lucky to have our cakes made by a friend who is an amazing baker! The day did go by really fast but we got to soak in every moment with each other and our friends and family.
Thanks, Shari + Mike, for these stunning photos and big congrats to S + T! :)
So in love with these emotion-filled images of Shaylea + Tyler’s sweet ceremony!
After the ceremony we walked hand in hand out of the church. We had a moment, just the two of us, to take it all in. I think we both said "we did it" with the goofiest smiles on our faces. Then the receiving line started. There were happy tears, smiles, hugs and high fives. It was so sweet!
And this handmade, ripped-fabric backdrop is just incredible!
The reception included so many sweet, vintage-inspired details, like old, worn books, wildflowers in jars, and hand-stamped favor bags. The cutest, right?!
Just have fun! We chose to do a lot of the projects ourselves and we have some pretty awesome memories stamping, ripping fabric, refinishing furniture etc. Our friends helped A LOT! We had so many nights hanging out and crafting, that quality time we spent together was priceless! The wedding day was so amazing, but the six months before the big day were just as memorable. Don't stress and enjoy your engagement!
