This Couple DIY’d Their Sweet Barn Wedding

Many brides are happy to dish out the wedding duties to friends, family, and professionals. In fact, the advice we hear most often from real brides? “Ask for help!” However, there are those special few with the stamina and creative energy to go full-on DIY…though we have a feeling asking for help is still the common theme! Stephanie and Daniel love a good DIY project and viewed their wedding day as an opportunity to work together to build a day that was truly them. This included all the wedding stationery, signage, calligraphy, the ceremony backdrop, and a whole lot more! And to bring it all together, Wink! Weddings was on hand filling in the ever-important details.

Aside from their hands-on mentality, S+D focused on creating a relaxing atmosphere for guests. Stephanie tells us: We are both pretty simple and easygoing people that love hanging out with friends and family. We wanted our wedding to be fun and outdoors and Reinstein Ranch truly made our wedding special! All of our family and friends stayed on the ranch (some even camped!) the entire weekend, which really allowed us relax and stay present during all the festivities.

Turns out Stephanie is quite the hand-letterer! She designed the invitation suite, menus, programs, and save-the-dates!

Daniel looked handsome in a bluish grey suite from Express. We’re seeing more and more grooms go for something blue and we love it!

S+D built the arbor backdrop and Stephanie painted signage on mirrors and chalkboards.

Daniel’s dad officiated the wedding in sign language since he is deaf, a very special moment for the bride and groom.

Another DIY! They created the ceremony cross to represent unity in their marriage.

S+D had family travel from Chile to spend the day with them, so they created a super-fun seating chart! Stephanie tells us that one of the highlights was sitting at dinner, watching people from different walks of life and cultures joined together to celebrate love.
