Claire Pettibone recently launched The Four Seasons couture collection in New York City and we’re completely ENAMORED. Inspired by the famed Art Nouveau artist, Alphonse Mucha, Claire modeled her collection after his iconic paintings of ladies that represent the four seasons. ‘The Seasons’ series by Mucha features ladies draped in gorgeous textiles, their flowing hair decorated by flowers or topped with a golden halo; they are surrounded by lush florals and greenery and the subtle yet striking use of color creates such a compelling harmony. All of these aspects come through in Claire’s designs – with her focus on nature, she creates eye-catching textures through intricate embroidery, and truly captures the irresistible force of each season.
Claire shares Creating four looks to epitomize the season they represent, while maintaining the versatility to be worn by brides for any time of year, was a really interesting project. I was able to immerse myself in the beauty of nature, and delve into the variety of color, texture, and motifs. It was truly one of my favorite collections to design, and even if a dress is from the spring collection, I could definitely see it being worn for a winter wedding, and vice versa. I present this collection as an inspirational starting point, and leave it to the creativity and individual personalities of my brides to make these dresses their own.
These dresses bloom from head to toe with delicate floral embroideries + carefully placed lace appliqués.
Linzee Katzman directed the team for Ted Gibson, and they created soft + wavy hairstyles to complement the designs. Viviana Martin led up the makeup team for Kevyn Aucoin; each of the brides-to-be had lush lashes + glowing skin, emphasizing the model’s natural beauty.
Such a dreamy + ethereal photo!
The shimmering rings are by Claire Pettibone for Trumpet & Horn!
Wasn’t that absolutely INCREDIBLE?! Swoon. Swoon. Swoon.
