Jenn + Taylor had an absolutely inspiring DIY wedding – and they planned it in 5 months while they were both getting their BFA’s! Inspiring, right? They were married at the gorgeous Three Points Ranch in Round Mountain, Texas – which has airstreams on their site to get ready in! Love that detail. :) They both decided that they really wanted their wedding to feel like a really great party and were inspired by the use of color + texture. Jenn also found lots of inspiration online looking at GWS as well as blogs from GWS faves Max Wanger and Rifle Paper Co.
I also love that they tried to plan their wedding to be as green as possible. They didn’t use extra paper where they didn’t need to (like programs), and everything from utensils, dinnerware, cups, etc. was 100% green and all recycled at the end of the night. They also had two booths set up at their reception in hopes of creating awareness for Living Well and Compassion International. Big thanks to Nessa K Photography for the stunning photos and congrats to Jenn + Taylor!
We had a friend named Gatlin Elms play before and during the ceremony. He played Falling Slowly from Once, The Blower’s Daughter by Damien Rice, and Shelter by Ray LaMontagne while I walked down the isle. We had a DJ at the reception, and we didn’t have a first dance or anything, but by the end of the night everyone was dancing and it was one of the most epic dance parties I have ever been to. Our DJ was awesome!
Walking down the aisle. Taylor was crying the entire time that I was walking down the isle and for most of the ceremony. It was just such a special moment for us to share together. I still have people come up to me and say that they cried during a lot of the ceremony after seeing how sweet Taylor was!
The bridesmaids wore whatever they wanted. Because they were already all buying plane tickets to come to the wedding, I figured the last thing they should have to do was spend money on a dress they didn’t want!
Taylor built a big projection screen and we showed The Princess Bride outside on the grass with quilts during the reception. It was between Cool Runnings and Princess Bride, and in the end we figured Princess Bride would be more appropriate :)
Don't stress! We were only engaged for 5 months, and I didn't stress for 1 day during the whole process which made it so much more enjoyable. I can't say the same for my mom, but she was a rock star with helping me do everything! I LOVED loved loved planning our wedding and having the opportunity to dedicate so much time to creating!

Absolutely lovely, really well covered.
I have been thinking about the idea of finding a way to bring awareness to a mission field we support. How did you go about bringing awareness to Compassion at your reception? Such a fun, relaxing wedding it looks like :)
I just saw this! In the barn where we had the cake we had 2 booths set up, 1 for Compassion and 1 for Living Water. I contacted Compassion about wanting to do a booth at the wedding and they sent us a bunch of supplies! Also, I did a banner with a bunch of letters and pictures that I’ve received from my kids. I am glad we did it, and we even had people pick up packets to support kids at the wedding :)
The most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen!!!!!!
