A Valentine’s Day Elopement

valentine elopement

I kind of think of an elopement as the ultimate romantic adventure, right? And what better day to elope, than Valentine’s Day! I love this super romantic styled shoot that Frances from Charmed Events Group dreamt up for the occasion. It’s the story of two East Coast Hampton socialites who want to escape the gossip of their town and decide to escape to San Francisco for an elopement, surrounded by only their closest friends. The two recurring themes of the shoot are “You and Me & Me and You”, and “CHECK, you’re my soul MATE” (play on chess – checkmate). Love, love! The style of the shoot is very East Coast chic with lots of lace, pearls, urns, glass and candles galore! Thanks so much to Gladys Jem Photography for the photos.

Their dessert bar by Sweet Luna Desserts had meringue pies, french macarons, buttercream cake, a “cake made out of flowers”, cream puffs, coconut cupcakes + mini pink cupcakes. There were framed lace + pearls as works of art hung above the dessert bar.

Wedding Inspiration with Tangerine Tango

tangerine tango inspiration

If you are a big fan of color trends like me,then I’m sure you’ve heard by now that Pantone declared Tangerine Tango as their Pantone Color for 2012. While I’m not typically a fan of orange, I think this shoot today has totally changed my mind! Concept + styled by the lovely Kristy Rice of Momental Designs, this shoot involves watercolors + Tangerine Tango ideas for a gorgeous modern wedding. Kristy sketched and created the entire Trellis pattern for Envelopments and then designed the entire shoot around it bringing in custom made fabrics, chairs, paper chandeliers and of course a variety of stationery pieces. I just love all the hand painting that goes into Kristy’s work and this shoot goes to show it’s not only for the paper – the cakes, the chandeliers and even a paper flower bouquet with hand painting – simply stunning! Gorgeous photos thanks to Swoon Over It Photography.

Did you know that with Dessy Group you can customize their dresses with the exact Pantone color swatches?! How rad is that + super perfect to find the exact color of dresses you are looking for your wedding day. The dress above is from the Tangerine Tango Pantone swatch! :)

From Kristy, Overall the look is meant to be a mix of clean and organic but not overly fussy or feminine. Versatility is key and communicating the many faces of the Trellis pattern was important. The table itself was set with minimal fluff, where stationery and watercolor spatter place settings as the focus. The color palette is monochromatic at first glance with unexpected pops of complimentary tones here and there. Custom pattern fabric were used in upholstery throughout. Small cafe chair seats, large overstuffed lounge chair, etc…

A Sparkly + Glam Holiday – with Unicorns!

dot sprinkle invite

If you read the current Holiday Issue of Rue you might have seen the feature Once Upon a Table where Casa de Perrin shares their collection of vintage rentals for a fun + sparkly holiday party. You might recognize that name since we shared Diana + Josh’s wedding (the adorable couple behind Casa de Perrin) a few months back. One of my all time favorite weddings – just love their style + the photos! Since their wedding, Diana + Josh opened up Casa de Perrin where you can rent decor for your tabletop and other fun details here in LA. I love this fun holiday table design styled by Jesi Haack Design and photographed by Jasmine Star.
