Favorite Wedding Fashion Moments from 2011

We share so many stylish brides + grooms (and even flower girls + ring bearers) here on Green Wedding Shoes, that we had to take a look at some of our favorites from the past year! The vintage wedding dresses, dresses with pops of color, bow ties and more, oh my! Let’s see what we loved from 2011…

Bridesmaids in tights! We featured two adorable weddings where I fell in love with the bridesmaids and their tights. The top photo is from this Vintage Inspired Canadian Wedding photographed by Green Ginger Photography and the bottom photo is from this sweet wedding by Priscila Valentina.

These bride’s wore dresses with an unexpected pop of color which I just love! The top bride found this great dress and altered it to make the perfect wedding dress, photographed by Floataway Studios. The bride below from this Portland wedding created a rainbow tulle design to peek out from her wedding dress – so adorable…bottom photo by Ben Blood.

And we can’t forget this lovely bride and her blue ruffled tulle (and sparkly red heart ban.do shoe clips!), photographed by Feather + Stone.

Love that this bride was bold enough to wear a black + gold wedding dress! She was married on her favorite holiday, Halloween, also. Thanks to Kristen Marie for the photo.

Another bride who designed her own dress! Stunning and love her pretty flower hairpiece also (actually the whole wedding is pretty amaze), photographed by W. Scott Chester Photography.

A Rustic Chic Wedding: Bree + Barham

Bree + Barham love everything rustic – antlers, pheasant feathers, and barns! They decided to get married at a barn near their home in Washington and designed a rustic chic wedding that spoke perfectly to their interests. I just love Bree’s stylish hairpiece + bouquet – and their first look is so super sweet! Congrats you two and thanks to Stacy Jacobsen for the lovely photos!

Most memorable moment of your wedding day? There were so many…when I first walked into the reception site and saw that it had been transformed into my vision by my all family and friends was breathtaking. Seeing Barham for the first time, I remember racing up the path in my heels, I was so excited to see him and seeing his reaction…is a moment I will never never forget. The ceremony to me was the heart of the day, it was truly amazing. And just having all of our loved ones around us that day was pure magic.

Any advice for those planning right now? Don’t forget why you are doing this – it’s not just the most amazing party you will ever throw. Be true to who you are as a couple. Make it fun and don’t get too caught up in the wedding trends. And try to make time every once in a while throughout the planning process to put the wedding aside for a least a moment. You can give yourselves a break, it’s ok.
