There’s nothing quite like summer love. The exhilaration of long days and late nights, new adventures and plenty of shared ice cream cones…we’re ALL about it!! Those carefree yet momentous moments are exactly what Courtney + Andrew hoped to recreate on their wedding day, and with the help of their incredible team of venders, like So Eventful, plus a few sweet surprises, they TOTALLY pulled it off.
Courtney let us in on the details behind their summer soirée: Andrew and I fell in love at the beginning of summer, so we wanted to give our guests a similar experience: a warm, summer evening filled with magical moments to make everyone feel like a kid again. We found a whimsical farm tucked away in the golden hills of Sonoma County, home to cute animals like donkeys, horses, and mini ponies. The animals brought fun, playful elements to the estate’s elegant white barns + flowers surrounding the property. However, one thing was missing — something unique that made you remember what it was like to have those summer love butterflies…a Ferris Wheel!
Danielle Poff Photography was on hand to document the day — let’s have a look!
Courtney turned to Minted for their festive invites!
Are those polka dots we see?! Love! This gown is a Olia Zavozina design and Courtney’s shoes are Badgley Mischka.
Plum Pretty Sugar in pink! The ‘maids wore a combo of the brand’s floral prints and Donna Morgan salmon gowns.
Braid GOALS by Bay Area Beautiful.
Michelle Lywood is the genius behind the days dreamy florals, from the big, dramatic blooms, to heaps of greenery throughout the venue.
Processional: Then (Instrumental) by Brad Paisley
Recessional: Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles
First Dance: Love Story by Taylor Swift's + Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran
K Venues is the private estate where C + A set up their summer dreamscape…and the mini horses were just (SUPER CUTE) icing on the cake!
A small, white barn on the property took on the role of the evening’s dinner hideaway, complete with bright florals, twinkling lights, and glowing candles.
Do your best to enjoy it all and remember the little things will all come together. If they don't, it will still feel perfect anyway. Trust your gut, especially with decisions and picking your vendors. From day one there were certain vendors that made me feel the most comfortable and I knew immediately they were the right ones. They were the people I trusted to bring my vision to life and helped reassure me along the way. When things went wrong and planning got stressful, those sweet souls and my MOH were the ones who ensured it would be the most beautiful day — and they were right!
For example, some signs I'd ordered came in broken a few days before our wedding and I didn't know what to do. One text to my amazing florist and she knew how to cover the damage and bring more gorgeous blooms into play. I couldn't have done this without my bridal party and our sweet, amazingly talented vendors!
Pretty Please Bake Shop created this rose gold leaf cake!
And for the grand finale!
OMG guuuuys — too cute. How fun would this be?!
I actually loved sneaking away for our sunset photos since the day was going by so quickly. It was the best moment to take a deep breathe, look at the beautiful day we created together, and spend a few moments just soaking it all in with Andrew. His favorite part was our vows and sharing that special moment surround by everyone we love...plus the dance floor! I second those moments too :)
Reel Eyes Media captured the sweet summer evening on film. Seriously, so many fun details!
Many congrats to C + A — may the summer fun ever continue in your marriage :)
