Sarah + Parker’s lovely Sodo Park wedding was a perfect blend of timeless style + playful whimsy! Their fun color palette, consisting mainly of orange + sage green hues, was as unexpected as it was beautiful and the adorable details incorporated throughout helped make their celebration special + unique. Their day had such a happy vibe + so much prettiness at every turn! Here’s more from Sarah about the inspiration behind the day:
We had certain things we felt really strongly about – we wanted our friend who introduced us to marry us, we wanted our dog to be in the wedding since she is such a big part of our relationship, we wanted it to feel like a great party with fabulous food and fun music. We met and fell in love in Seattle, a city we both love, so hosting the wedding in our “home city” was a no-brainer, and we tried to showcase the best about the city in different ways – through the welcome gifts, escort cards, and food.
Big thanks to Michele M. Waite for the beautiful photography and congrats to Sarah + Parker!
Sarah wore a classically beautiful gown by Vera Wang and Parker rocked a fun, plaid J. Crew shirt!
Love the groomsmen’s polka dot socks!
And their birch + lace chuppah is so, so pretty!
That's so hard! (Can we pick two?) We both loved the ceremony. We both wrote our own vows, and our mutual friend Erinn, who introduced + married us. One reason we asked her is that she's such a warm person, and it felt 100% right to have her be the one to join us together. We also both loved the unexpected, unscripted parts of the wedding.
Sarah's favorite moment(s): Early in the planning process, I asked Parker to "surprise me" at the wedding. His surprises were the most memorial part of the wedding for me. I had originally wanted our dog to wear a "Here Comes the Bride" sign down the aisle, but we couldn't find one so I had given up. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Parker secretly sewed our dog not only a Here Comes the Bride sign but also a Just Married sign for her to change into after the ceremony. He also sewed the vest (from a pattern he designed) that the signs snapped onto. And he arranged a secret s'mores bar for me, since he knows I love s'mores.
Parker's favorite moment: When Sarah (accidentally!) bit his finger when we were feeding each other cake.
Processional: Wedding Party: Halo – Beyonce; Bride: The Story – Brandi Carlile
Recessional: Home – Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes
First Dance: Say Yes – Langhorne Slim (the same song Parker proposed to Sarah with)
One of my fave details of their day was this incredible dusty miller table runner created by Lola Event Floral & Design!
1. Don't be afraid to break the rules! We made some un-traditional decisions that made our wedding more memorable and "us." 2. Try to actually eat some dessert... we're still thinking about the desserts and wishing we could taste them. 3. Try to work with the best vendors that you can, and listen to them throughout the process. They are professionals and know what they are doing, and can provide their great expertise to help you execute your vision. 4. For brides, who may tend to get stressed out - set a cut-off date for the stress and promise yourself from that point on, you'll enjoy yourself.

A lovely wedding with so many unique parts. The dessert table looks fantastic!
How on earth did they make that lace/paper backdrop for the ceremony?! It’s beautiful!
Paper! and glue… and time. lots of time:)
Do you sell the lace backdrop? I must have one
Love the plaid shirts. We so often see solid shirts, what a great twist.
Beautiful! Sodo Park is just down the street from where I work, but I’ve still never been there. I need to go–every time I see a wedding here it looks amazing! I love the lace ceremony backdrop too.
What a beautiful wedding. I really liked reading about Parker’s surprises to Sarah with the dog sweater vests. How precious!
Each and every detail is just beautiful. Loved the theme…its just unique. The table decor and the floral arrangements looks so pretty.
Looks super fun! I just love the invites!
A suit jacket over flannel, how very Seattle! And how can I resist such an adorable and informative puppy!
Nice touch with the belt on the wedding gown and love the wedding bouquet!
Hi, wondering where the doilies were purchased from? The shapes are very unusual and gorg.
Hello! Beautiful photos and wedding! Where were the photos taken with Seattle in the background? I’m getting married in Sodo and would love our before portraits and first look to be taken here! Thanks!
