Today we are sharing lots of adorable ideas based around sewing – perfect for all you crafters and/or fashion designers out there. :) Even if that’s not you, there are still lots of pretty ideas to pull inspiration from today. Thanks so much to the lovely Aileen + Ellen of Love and Lavender for dreaming, designing and styling this lovely shoot. Thanks also to Simply Rosie Photography for the gorgeous photos.

For the main table they wanted something classic and sewing themed, but not overboard sewing. I love the chevron table runner which would be an easy DIY! They created it by spray painting the chevron pattern. The chargers were made out of cardboard and then covered in yarn and the pincushion place cards were another easy DIY project. For the centerpiece itself, they used tin cans and decorated them with fabric. Love how easy everything would be to recreate. :)

For the guest book, they wanted to create something that you could actually use in your home, rather than a book of names that collects dust – love that idea! Guests would sign a piece of fabric that would later be turned into a quilt – adorbs!

The other main item on the guest book table is the seating chart. Ellen inherited hundreds of wooden spools from her great-grandmother and Aileen came up with the idea to use them in the seating chart. They made it from a old frame, a piece of cardboard with fabric laid over and string! They topped the table off with a cute homemade “Sew In Love” sign and some giant spools they found at joanns on clearance.

And the dessert table! They used an old hutch and night stands as the structure. The yarn balls were made of wire covered in yarn and fabric strips hung for the backdrop.

When they think of sewing, they were inspired by fireplaces and comfort food. With that in mind, they made the decision that the main desserts would be cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. To let the guests know the different options they embroidered a dessert menu, and had little tin cans full of the main topping (raspberry, peppermint, etc). The stunning cake is by Baked.
