Meryl + Jon wanted a wedding that was ALL about family! Having dated since they were 16, they were both ecstatic to officially bring both families together. Their inspiration for the day drew from their venue – the Alisal Guest Ranch in Santa Barbara, California where their families have spent the last 25 summers vacationing. Here’s what Meryl had to say about their big day,
“When we got engaged we could not imagine being able to have our wedding at the Alisal. The Alisal offers my family an escape from the chaos of normal life. As soon as we turn down the sycamore tree lined lane we are able to disconnect from technology, no phones/tvs in the room, and connect to nature and family. Between the horseback rides and just throwing the ball around , this place has been a perfect experience for my family over the years. We wanted our guests to have a taste of what we were able to experience every summer. A majority of our guests stayed with us on the ranch for the weekend and joined us for some fishing, and a western themed rehearsal dinner. My mother, who essentially planned the whole wedding, did a fabulous job making sure it represented who Jon and I are as a couple.”
Thanks so much to Erin Hearts Court for the photos and congrats to Meryl + Jon!
Processional: You are My Sunshine
Recessional: Wedding March
First Dance: ‘Cause I Love You – Johnny and June Carter Cash
Love how happy they are in this photo! :)
The most memorable moment of our wedding day was heading up to the reception site and having a moment for just the two of us. When we arrived to the site we were able to have a glass of wine and relax. We were so incredibly excited to finally be husband and wife after all of these years.
A special shout out to the staff at Alisal Ranch who did a fabulous job with every detail. They made sure all of our guests were able to enjoy the Alisal experience. Many of the staff members at the Alisal have seen me grow up and were excited for my family on this special occasion.
Do as much as you can early on. My mother did a great job guiding me through the planning process. We did a bulk of all of the planning early on allowing me to be at ease during the 2 weeks before our wedding. It was also wonderful having a day of coordinator. This allowed my mom to enjoy every minute of the wedding day. Also just relax and celebrate what you and your future husband have.

The floral arrangements are vintage and classy at the same time. There is an extra attention given to details which makes me appreciate the shoot even more!
Thank you for featuring this wedding! It is seriously our favorite of 2012!! So much fun!
Fab! This wedding put a smile on my face. Love the shoe shot.
Gorgeous. Every detail is stunning!
Wow such a beautiful, organic setting!
The florals are seriously fab!
This wedding looks just so lovely. Love the full colors and the choice of music! & such a radiant bride! ~ Saluti.
This looks like it was one classic and chic wedding, awesome! This location seems perfect for the theme and couple itself as well, they really lucked out! Santa Barbara is one of my favorite cities to visit and a wedding there is probably even better. I was just there for a birthday and thought it was no wedding, it was still fabulous! Stayed at the South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com). Chic itself and inexpensive, the perfect combo! The best of luck you too!
