April + Eric have been together for 12 years, so they had plenty of time to think about how they wanted to get married. Neither of them ever dreamed about having a big wedding and since April’s family is in the Philippines and Eric’s family is in Minnesota, it would have been impossible to pick a place + time where everyone could attend. So they decided it would just be the two of them. To really get away and unplug, they rented a cabin in the woods for a week. They spent the morning of the wedding getting ready together in the cabin, and after they exchanged their vows, they cut a small cake and shared s’mores in front of a campfire. It’s evident their day was filled with so much love and meaning. Here’s more from beautiful bride:
We wanted a simple, intimate ceremony outdoors, with just the two of us and our labradoodle Murphy, and in the end that is just what we got. And our family and friends were with us in spirit…
Big thanks to Vicki Grafton for sharing these gorgeous images with us today and congrats to April + Eric on a day that was truly what you hoped it would be!
How sweet are their family portraits in the woods?!
The entire day was so relaxed: we woke up late, had breakfast, went for a short hike, and then there was nothing else to do except get dressed and get married. The most memorable moment was looking at each other after the ceremony, realizing we were finally husband and wife after twelve years.

I love that you guys are featuring an elopement. They can be just as beautiful as a wedding, and aren’t necessarily about a cheaper alternative.

Greetings from Virginia!
I find it extremely endearing and touching, that the groom helped the bride get into her dress. This “wedding” takes intimacy and romance to a whole new level. I felt so moved by that one image alone!
I love the shoes! My daughter is looking for shoes similar to that. Where did you get them?
Cute, love the simplicity and the photographs!
“So they decided it would just be the two of them. To really get away and unplug, they rented a cabin in the woods for a week. ”
That was sooooo sweet! Though, it was more good if they have their families there. But it’s okay.. at least they’re happy. Also, I can’t resist to tell to you that dog is so cute! <3
