Heather + Jeffrey met back in high school – she was a homeschooled girl that liked American Dolls and he was just one of those triplet boys. Their wedding was such a happy day and happened through so much of a joint effort. They were married at Hidden Meadows in Snohomish, Washington, and their wedding had a quaint country feel. Heather + Jeffrey fell in love with the venue because of its small town location and the fact that it was on a sod farm surrounded by panoramic mountain views. Another major selling point was the fact that the entire side of the venue opened to reveal the sweeping grounds where the ceremony took place. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect.
The girls got ready in a cute old house down the road from a dairy farm, there were tears at their first look, and then moved on to an emotional and special day from then on. Common household elements were used in extremely creative ways by their wedding planner to create eclectic vintage decor. Their alter was an old fireplace mantle with a cathedral shaped window, delicately framed by birdcages which were filled with willow branches. The delightful attention to detail throughout every element of their wedding was exquisitely executed by their wedding planner Plume Wedding Concepts. They also used local catering companies to keep the hometown vibe. Big thanks to Andria Lindquist for letting me share her stunning photos!
Favorite Memory of the Day?
It is hard to pick any particular moment of our wedding day that stole our hearts because the entire day was so awe-inspiring. There were many things that left me breathless. It was the sweet words that filled the letter Jeff wrote me. It was seeing him for the first time and knowing how far we had come. It was the silent exchange of eyes during the ceremony while being surrounded by our loving friends and family. In short, the day as a whole was my favorite.
We were inspired by birds! The initial concept of the wedding stemmed from the silhouette of sparrows, and it continued to evolve incorporating elements of vintage and country flare. We wanted our wedding to emit a classic timeless simplicity. Jeff and I are both simple and classic in our approach to life and we wanted our wedding to mirror our own unique personalities. We chose birds as a strong symbol because we felt that birds embodied all of the aspects we wished to portray.
Any advice to those planning now?
Take it in. Enjoy the process and the stage of life you’re in. Absorb the people in your life leading up to the wedding. There were so many loving people that helped with our wedding that made it even more special. It really wouldn’t have come together without them. Lastly, allow yourself to take a few moments during your wedding to really let the impact of that day sink in. It all moves so fast and it’s so easy to just move through it, but know it can’t move without the two of you.
Great advice Heather! We wish you both all the best!
