Romantic Tuscany Wedding: Michelle + Brian

tuscany wedding

Michelle + Brian both have Italian roots and love everything about the romantic culture. So when they were choosing a location for their big day, they decided there could really be no better place than an authentic Italian agriturismo, overlooking the beautiful rolling hills of Tuscany. From the florals, to the decor, to the food and drink served, they kept the details simple + authentic to the region. The most important aspect for them was to let the beauty of their surroundings + their love for each other shine, and for all of their guests to really enjoy the celebration. And it seems like they definitely pulled that off! Here’s a bit more about the day from Michelle:

Having a destination wedding defines making a wedding about the two of us. My dad’s side of the family are all from Italy, most of which still reside there. Brian also has family from there and since before our engagement we’ve always talked about how wonderful it would be to wed there; bringing it back to our heritage. We spent more than two hours after the ceremony with our photographers because we wanted to capture more moments of just us to remember it by.

Big congrats to the happy couple + thanks so much to Jason + Anna Photography for sharing Michelle + Brian’s beautiful day with us!

Doesn’t Michelle look stunning?! We love, love her Reem Acra dress (similar dress here) which was perfectly complemented with a casual braid + flower crown!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

I walked down to "Turning Page" Sleeping at Last.. and I remember it all so vividly. The song played with these beginning lyrics .."I've waited a hundred years. But I'd wait a million more for you. Nothing prepared me for What the privilege of being yours would do." I remember looking at my dad + we both sighed and stepped out together, he was more shaky than me + it was such an unforgettable moment. I remember the exact smell. Walking down the pebbled steep steps, the faces of all my favorite friends + family smiling their big, beaming smiles. It was all happening so fast.. Then my eyes met Brian's and (don't mind my cheesiness) I swear time stopped. I felt safe, I knew I could do this and this + he was the very best thing. Instantly my eyes welled, and internally I lost it and felt so privileged to be marrying this wonderful man of mine.

The amount of time Michelle + Brian allowed for portraits resulted in some absolutely stunning images!

And the long, exposed wood dining table looked so gorgeous on Sasseta Alta‘s terrace. Love that breezy, tulle runner + the handmade limoncello favors!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

The biggest advice I can give is to remember that this is your special day, you're celebrating you and him. Enjoy each and every moment of it, it passes so quickly!

Also, less is more. We wanted something extremely simple. No crazy decorations, nothing too extravagant & extreme. We wanted the beauty of ours to outshine all the complicated decor, and it really was such a simple yet elegant event. People tend to lose themselves in all the crazy decor and this + thats. Remember to do what is true for the both of you and that will outshine all.

Lastly, go with trusted vendors. They are worth every penny. My day was a dream mainly because of the people we choose to help make it one. We had complications with flowers being shipped from another country, lost decoration bags, etc etc. But they all came together and on my day they persevered and it was prettier than anything I had even imagined. We choose to fly out our photographers, because they are such incredible people and we would not + could not imagine anyone else shooting our day. It was the best thing we could have done. We're forever thankful to the memories these two brought out. We flew out our florist because she's just as wonderful. Not only is she super sweet, but she is a miracle worker! They vendors you choose go a long way on your special day, so be picky + go with your gut on who will make your day as special as it deserves to be.
