Romantic Sayulita, Mexico Wedding: Jessie + Brendan

Sayulita Mexico Wedding

It’s Monday, and if we can’t take a real vacay to somewhere beautiful + tropical, a mental get-away to sunny Sayulita, Mexico will just have to do! Lucky for us, Jessie + Brendan’s stunning, romantic wedding is all the eye candy we need to jump start our week, and we’re pretty sure you’ll agree in a matter of moments.

Since these two lovebirds fell for Sayulita long ago, they knew they wanted to bring all of their family and friends to their favorite beachside Mexican village to celebrate their nuptials. Jessie tells us, Brendan and I wanted our wedding to be a weekend long celebration that felt like a laid back vacation. We are beach people. so we always knew we wanted to get married outside near the ocean. We actually booked our wedding site unseen, the first time we saw our venue in person was the day before the wedding and it made it that much more magical and exciting. Don Pedro’s was out of a movie, a lantern filled palapa sitting atop a cliff overlooking the ocean, it truly set the tone for the entire day.  Brendan and I did not want to feel as if we were on display, we wanted to make sure we enjoyed the wedding as much as our guests, so instead of taking photos after the ceremony, we went straight into cocktail hour. It was so nice to be able to chat with everyone and greet them before we even sat down for dinner, it really felt like one big party with our favorite people.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

It really is hard to pick one! From getting ready with by bridesmaids, to the heart-felt ceremony, amazing speeches and epic dance party. I have a very vivid memory montage of feeling so overwhelmed with happiness the entire time. But, I think my most memorable moment was right before I walked down the aisle. I was waiting in the car with our 9 month old daughter Reese, I could hear the guitars playing and voices singing, I could see our best friends laughing while lining up to walk down the aisle. Reese had her little hands wrapped around my finger and we were smiling and laughing at each other. It was such a surreal and calm moment for me knowing that I was about to experience one of the best and most memorable days of my life. I was so relaxed and happy. Once I walked down that aisle, I saw nobody else but Brendan and I will always cherish that indescribable feeling.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Do what you want. There are no rules. Have your list of non-negotiable items, whatever that means for you and stick with it. I think what made me such a relaxed bride was the fact that I made every decision for us and not in fear of what people would think. AND, the day of.. the only thing that will matter is that everyone you love is there for you.
