Romantic California Ranch Wedding: Marissa + Charlie

bride and groom

Marissa + Charlie’s beautiful California ranch wedding radiated pure romance at every turn! You’ll see it represented in Marissa’s gorgeous + unique Claire Pettibone  dress (which she paired with custom made victorian-inspired boots), in the intimate lakeside ceremony complete with rustic, hay-bale seating and in the beyond dreamy florals by Sharla Flock Designs. No detail was overlooked + it’s evident the day was a true reflection of the two of them + their one-of-a-kind style. Here’s a bit more about the stunning setting from Marissa:

Llano Seco Rancho has been in Charlie’s family since 1861. He is the 6th generation. Charlie took me to visit the ranch about a month into our courtship. He actually rowed me around in a little boat on one of the lakes and we had a champagne picnic. It was one of the most romantic and beautiful days. The ranch balances agriculture and conservation and because so much of it is a wildlife refuge, it’s an amazing place to see numerous wild birds, like peacocks, also porcupines, rattle snakes, deer and wild turkeys…

Huge thanks to Noa of Feather Love Photography for sharing these incredible images with us today + congratulations to Marissa + Charlie!

Marissa’s dress is pretty unbelievable, right?! The lace detailing + hints of pink perfectly match the wedding’s quixotic vibe…

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

There are so many, so I'll share a few:

• Walking down the aisle with my dad to Charlie and my stepson Matias.
• Dancing to Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros while our friends and family spiraled around us dancing and singing. And then sitting around the bonfire into the wee morning hours singing.
• The incredible sunset and full moon.

A hayride is such a fun way to transport your guests from the ceremony to the reception!

Majorly love the reception’s soft + romantic feel, which was perfectly achieved with a few subtle details: blush + ivory blooms in mercury glass vessels, gold-rimmed glasses + china, and muted gray linen runners partially covering the exposed wood dining tables. So, so pretty!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

The most fun and beautiful weddings tend to have a lot of unique details and don't necessarily follow the norm. Do what feels right for you as a couple and don't feel pressure to follow the so-called rules.
