Remember this super cute engagement session with pillows, feathers and balloons? Well, today I get to share their lovely wedding! Mary + Stefan were married on Halloween night in downtown Los Angeles at the Marvimon (a favorite venue of mine!). The wedding was photographed by the super duo of Erin Hearts Court and the talented Meg from La Partie Events was the wedding coordinator and florist. Special thanks to Meg for providing some additional details!
“Mary and Stefan’s wedding was a very artsy and fun affair and the couple, their family and guests were all wonderfully kind and fun people. The bride Mary has a background in managing a private art collection and the groom Stefan is a British song writer/musician/producer who has worked with Amy Winehouse, Estelle and others so I knew from the beginning that their wedding was going to rock! When Mary told me she had designed a dress with a large black and white striped bow on it, I was super excited and inspired. It was going to be a Halloween wedding and we wanted some of that theme in there but done in a modern, playful and creative way.
Love Mary’s style. That dress, those sparkly Christian Louboutin shoes! All so fabulous – oh, and Stefan’s style isn’t so bad either – check out his matching bow tie!
For the ceremony space, we hung large cloth lanterns from Anthropologie, draped black and white fabric to frame the couple up front and lined the aisle with a variety of pumpkins. Mary was inspired by a May 2008 issue of Vogue that featured bridesmaids in a variety of outfits so she asked her bridesmaids to wear what they wanted but gave them some direction about the style she had in mind. They were a very beautiful and stylish group and they accented their outfits with various headpieces Mary bought from Forever 21 for the occasion. The variety of bridesmaid bouquets I created for her 9 bridesmaids complemented the eclectic style of their attire. Oh, and don’t forget to notice the most adorable flower girl you’ve ever seen who wore a big ball of orange tulle and stole everyone’s hearts. Mary wanted her to look like a pumpkin in honor of Halloween.
We decided to incorporate a variety of pumpkins to start and then we decided on black and white patterned runners on top of chunky wood tables for the reception space. I wanted to incorporate splashes of bright color with the flowers so I started with bright coral peonies and added into the mix: bright orange parrot tulips, deep and bright pink roses, deep red roses, red and orange berries, bright pink cobra lilies, mauve tree peonies, deep burgundy and pink dahlias and some other funky floral accents. The floral containers were a mix of mason jars, Anthropologie goblets and mercury glass vases and I incorporated mini cloth and glass lanterns from Luna Bazaar and Anthropologie on some of the tables for fun. I completed the reception look with floating candles wrapped in birch wood or black and white stripped ribbon. Each table was also adorned with green oranges (the ones that look like brains) and mini pumpkins at each place setting.
The caterer Auntie Em’s was amazing! They made mini shepherd’s pies and other British-inspired appetizers for the cocktail hour that made you want to make the cocktail hour food your dinner for a week straight. The food and the lush family-style buffet display that the owner Terri dreamed up were seriously to die for. As dancing begun, we passed out masks, glow-in-the-dark bracelets and other props for guests to have fun with. Auntie Em’s displayed mini caramel apples and other delightful desserts alongside our Halloween candy bar. In place of a cake, Mary and Stefan cut cupcakes from the dessert bar topped with ballerina and pirate toys Mary found at a local knick knack store for 75 cents each!

Congrats to a beautiful couple!
So awesome – love the linens and the dress and the shoes!!
Cute–I like how the black and white stripes balance out the orange!
On the photo of the bridesmaids, the woman second from left in the gold dress, she looks exactly like Kate from Uk's The Apprentice. I think she now presents a news program on Sky TV.
Must be her! Looks so similar… anyone know?
When I read "Halloween Wedding," my thoughts imediately turned to tacky costumes. But I love love love what they did! So elegant and detailed, but still on theme. What a balance!
Ooooh! The third bridesmaid from the right — I want her dress! Any idea where she got it?
Loving this wedding. SO chic and stylish. Great work by all!
One of the reasons Halloween is my favorite holiday is because it is a creative, magical, whimsical, fairy-tale of a day-just like this wedding! LOVE it!

What a unique idea for a wedding. Everything turned out really cool. My weekly linky party–One Creative Weekend–has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit “One Creative Weekend” on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else.
I think the Halloween theme was executed very well! It had hints of the season, but didn’t go overboard and it was still a very beautiful, classy wedding!
