Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I had so much fun celebrating the wedding of my dear friends Sarah + Joel in Cape Cod the past few days. What a gorgeous location for a wedding! And to start the week off on Green Wedding Shoes, I have a lovely backyard wedding to share from Love Me Do Photography. The celebration took place in Lydia’s parents backyard which overlooks fields of grasses in Worcester, PA. It was a family affair as Lydia’s dress was her mom’s which she hand made when she got married and her grandmother did the embroidery. The invites + rings were by her brother adam smith, and her sister-in-law Halligan Norris made the cake topper + programs.
I LOVE the seating with the hay bales and the pretty ribbons lining the aisle.
My aunt did the girls bouquets. Jessica Knarr and I made the center pieces, and my mom did all the potted plants.
The dancing in the last images if from a West African dance group in Philly – Croatan Studios – that Lydia is a part of. They taught all the guests some West African dances and then they had a dance where all the girls are on one side and all the guys on the other, a sort of mating ritual dance.
Thanks again to Nadine from Love Me Do Photography for letting me share this sweet wedding today. Love Me Do Photography is located in Philadelphia, PA and available for travel worldwide.
I adore the twig centerpieces! Was there a whole lot to them, or are they fairly straightforward to make? We’re getting hitched at an Arboretum and they might be a better/cheaper alternative to flowers!
Love it! The ribbons down the aisle are my fave! This is how a DIY wedding should be! :)
This is so idyllic! My faves: the hay bale seating arcs, and the butterfly headpiece on one of the bridesmaids. What a beautiful day, guys!
Her dress is lovely!!! Adorable wedding!!!
Wow – gorgeous DIY details – hay bales, ribbons, wood…all my favs.

The golden yellow theme is a great look and the photography sets it off well. The cakes look really yummy! :-p
What a wonderful vintage style garden wedding. The yellow really adds to the sweetness factor and I’m in love with the yellow and white streamers above the hay bale seating!
