I have such a GORGEOUS wedding to share with you guys today! Loro was a reader of Green Wedding Shoes and found lots of her inspiration on the site including her amazing photographer, Clayton Austin. I love everything about their wedding. One of the most gorgeous wedding ceremonies and just wait until you see the food + dessert tables at the reception! Such a beautiful, gorgeous day you two. Big congrats to Loro + Mark!
After the pre-wedding photos, I was ready to go and was by myself waiting the few moments before the ceremony was to begin. It suddenly dawned on me that all of our planning and work had finally all come together and This was it! I could hardly believe that everything was so perfect. I felt like that moment was the beginning of my dreams coming true, and I could hardly wait for the rest of it to keep unfolding before me.
I LOVE how the bridal party are sitting for the ceremony. I looks like a scene from a play!! What a lovely idea. And their dresses? All so gorgeous! Loro’s dress and the bridesmaids skirts were all designed by Loro’s sister, Kara Melwood.
Love the banners they hung for the reception!
My inspiration for the reception came from this photo you posted about Sunday Suppers. I was so inspired that I had Mark help me make the tables for our reception from old barnwood that my mom & I got from an old corral fence. I also love letters of any kind, and have a collection of old wooden letterpress blocks; ceramic letters; lead letters; all kinds of letters! I wanted to incorporate them into my wedding, and they worked perfectly for the reception. WOW! So amazing. I love how these turned out!
Any advice for those planning now? Have fun with stuff, if you are a do-it-yourself-er like me, and something isn’t turning out exactly as you wished, don’t stress too much, because it will probably be just the thing that adds that bit of flair that makes it you! And most of all, DO NOT be afraid to be untraditional!

Stunning! Especially love those hanging light bulbs. Does anybody know where they can be purchased?
This wedding is FANTASTIC! There are so many things I love about it, I don’t even know where to begin! The vintage chic feel is so unique in the classiest of ways. From the banners and the bird cages to the wooden stamps and hanging light bulbs, you can really see the personalities of the couple. BEAUTIFUL!

Absolutely gorgeous! Great theme.
Hi there, I’ve been silently reading your blog for the past 5 or 6 months now and I really love it… in fact, this is where I landed and found my dream wedding gown (Chris and Vanessa)…
Thank you for all the wonderful wedding ideas! Keep it up. :-)

Wow. It all looks like some theatrical period remake. It’s stunning.
Every now and then you see shots like this and you wish you were there in the flesh to savor the day.

THIS IS AMAZING!! At first I thought it was a photo shoot! I just love it all!
So in love with this wedding! So much personality, beauty and originality….and perfectly captured by Clayton too.
@Jacquelyn:
The wedding was in Calgary, Alberta. And, I actually know two of the people in the wedding party from my hometown, which totally caught me off guard when I was oohing and ahhing at the photos!
Completely stunning and timeless.
Absolutely beautiful images! Nice vintage look!
Amazing ! ! !
Thank you for sharing.
This is a real wedding?! It looks like a photo shoot. This is one of my favourite weddings ever! Wow. Amazing!
I was lucky enough to be at this wedding–by far the most perfect one I’ve seen or heard of!
@ Florence: I know several of the wedding party as well; who do you know that was in it?
Wow! I love the hanging birdcages and all the type accents, from the woodblock letters to his cufflinks to those hanging banners. It totally does seem like a styled shoot in many ways.
This is one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. So original and so gorgeous.
Hi – Love this wedding! Would love to know where to get the banners!
Dawn
What a cool wedding! It has a certain “steam-punk” vibe without being too theme-y. Awesome!
Okay. Okayokayokay. I am insanely in LOVE with that dress. I live in Edmonton. OH MY GOSH THAT DRESS IS INCREDIBLE.
Every time I catch a glimpse of it, I think of Katharine Hepburn! I want one. I can’t even believe how incredibly beautiful that dress is.
The banners are easy to make. Contact your local sign or banner shop. Give them the poetry or whatever you want. Those banners looked like they were on cloth. Might be more expensive than on say a vinyl material. Shouldn’t be too expensive though.
I am dumb struck. One of the most beautiful and creative weddings I have ever seen. LOVE this wedding and Love Green Wedding Shoes. You never disappoint!
Gosh, this wedding is simply incredible!
I love this wedding dress. Dresses with sleeves and collars are so fresh. Covering up a bit has an amazing elegance to it. It also gives you a few more spots to do something fun with more elements. I’m starting to see more sleeves and collars on the wedding blogs across the board.
I have to know where these lights are from! Been looking for some for a shoot I have next week!
Very rarely do I see a ceremony that stops me dead in my tracks. This one did. Couldn’t take my eyes off of it for many minutes. What a great idea. Hope you’ve started a trend.
Wishing… all weddings could be as awesome as this <3
I am captivated. Wow.
Such a stunningly styled wedding! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
any idea where to get banners like this? or how to go about making them?
This is definately a wedding to put Calgary on the map for creativity and originality.Loved working with Loro and her sister! The girls from Loro’s church always have incredible gowns that take my breath away. These pictures take us to an era of simplicity and eloquence that only this bride can portray with such perfection.Honoured to have helped make her dream dress come true!!
I attended this wedding. The theme, setting, and style encompassed these two beautiful people. It had Heaven’s attention. These two are a perfect pairing.
The reception was deliciously delightful and certainly one-of-a-kind. All who helped make this day perfect were busy! But oh, what a blissful wedding!
Gorgeous wedding photos. No wonder people hire you!
Gorgeous shots. I love the way the couples interact. Such a warm feeling and mood. Congrats to the photographer.
The last picture is to die for!
