I love all the bright colors and handmade elements from Jenna + Ryan’s Wedding. The groomsmen’s bow ties are FABULOUS as is Jenna’s gorgeous bouquet and handmade details. Congrats to you both!
After much consideration and even some hesitation, we chose to have a “first look”. I can honestly say that this was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. Seeing Ryan in private and spending uninterrupted time together before the big celebration began allowed us both to feel overwhelmingly calm and excited all at once. Yet the anticipation we felt before seeing eachother in private was not at all diminished when we saw each other for the first time surrounded by all of our loved ones.
What song did you walk down the aisle to? Phil Wickham – You’re beautiful
One of the themes for the style aspect of the wedding was colored glass. My senior year in high school, I inherited several unique pieces of antique colored glass from my grandmother, and quickly after began collecting colored glass vases and household decor from every antique store we visited. When we first started the planning/dreaming process for the wedding, it did not take me long to realize that I wanted these pieces to be a central component of our design. Another important stylistic theme of our wedding was handmade/homespun. I can honestly say that my love of crafting and creating is paralleled by Ryan’s. We both love raw art in all forms- which I feel was reflected well in our choice of wedding music, photography, videography, and decorations. We really wanted our wedding to be an accurate reflection of us as a couple.
Ryan and I truly could not have made any of this happen without help from our family, our friends, and our fabulous wedding vendors. It is amazing to see how willing and eager people are to support, encourage, and contribute time and effort to your big day. Planning an Arizona wedding from Tennessee would have been impossible without my treasured momma and sister, who ran errands, made phone calls, and worked on projects for 9 months leading up to the wedding. We are equally as grateful for the rest of our family and friends, who folded programs, cut out seating assignments, boxed up centerpieces, and most importantly prayed for us every step of the way. My last piece of advice comes from my aforementioned mother, who reminded me daily to “enjoy the journey”, because the day really does fly by.

Ummm…Did they play the whole song “You’re Beautiful” when she walked down the aisle? I know it says “You’re beautiful” over and over but it’s also about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and talks about Him bleeding on the tree and rising again. Just seems like an odd choice to me.
Such a gorgeous wedding! I love all the colors, and the photographs with so much natural light make everything look so warm and cheerful. The photographer got some really unique, gorgeous shots of what looks like a thoughtful, homespun wedding.
What a beautiful wedding!! Love the flowers and the colored glass centerpieces. Love the photos and the video. What a great job capturing all the unique details and personality of the wedding!!
How wonderful! I love all the little cozy details. I also love the up half-the-time, down half-the-time hair… I’m inspired.
Wow, these images are gorgegous!! I love the use of natural light. The wedding details are perfect..I might have to find some cute yellow shoes like the brides :)
oh – how gorgeous! I love all the colored glass and how it really pops against the natural feel of the wedding. So much fun. Where did the bride get the bridesmaids necklaces? Are those Anthro too? Love.
Soo cute! I loved her wedding dress… so beautiful.. and the video was awesome!
Wow… what a GORGEOUS wedding!! I just got married 2 weeks ago (today!) and am now in wedding’s over denial! hehe :)
Seriously how cute are the bowties. They are to die for! and I totally agree with the comments about natural light. I love how the light floods the photo of the cake! :D
The consistency in this wedding is terrific.
The planning on their end – dress, decor, color – is all seemingly appropriate & perfect for the couple.
The record they have of their special day in photos is certainly to be coveted! The photographer captured some amazing moments of candor, taking great advantage of so many natural elements. I envy the way they will be able to remember their beautiful wedding!
The colored glass was a personal and beautiful touch to this already amazing wedding. I now feel very inspired to start a colored glass collection! Thank you for sharing :)
I LOVE wedding decor…Beautiful!! I’m loving your hair up & down throughout the celebration. Was that hard to do? Did you have your hair stylist on stand by for the change? I would really love to do that , just nervous I may mess it up in the process, lol!
Again, what a beautifully, well planned wedding celebration! :)
Such a cute couple! And you can tell a lot of care went into the details. I just love the sparklers instead of rice or bubbles!
It says the dress was donated by Lillian Lottie Couture–are you good friends? Or did you agree on an arrangement to recognize them for the donation?
Wow, love her bouquet! What a sweet, down-to-earth looking couple. Looks like a fun day full of love!
Great pictures, thanks for sharing. I’m diggin the cords, cardigans, and bow ties on the guys.

I just love this wedding. The hair, the makeup, the dress, the bow ties, the colors, the vases. Obviously everything. I am seriously infatuated with the shoes-of-the-bride and the necklaces worn by the bridesmaids. Where did these beautiful necklaces come from?
what a gorgeous wedding and couple! i’m dying to know what song is playing in their adorable video…it sounds like sufjan stevens, perhaps?
Hi Kim- You are right! It’s Sufjan Stevens and the song is called Chicago :)
Jen, this post is gorgeous! I love the bridesmaid dresses – what a beautiful color. And, the groomsmen boutonnieres are so whimsical!
-E.
Where are the bow ties from? They would be perfect for our October wedding! Thanks!
LOVE this wedding!! The bridesmaid dresses are adorable!! and I love all the colored vases!! So cute!
Your wedding pictures are simply lovely. Every detail so delicate! I think the fact that you walked down the isle to “You’re Beautiful” says a lot about your faith. I love that song! Bringing Christ into your wedding is a beautiful thing and something I want to do when I get married one day :) Congratulations and good luck! I pray that God will be blessing your marriage everyday!
First of all, thank you so much everyone for your incredibly kind words. I was looking back at our post as our one year anniversary is approaching and I just now saw all of the sweet comments.
Even though I’m beyond late, I wanted to try and answer all of the questions in case anyone is still curious:
Laura & Amber- the necklaces are actually from Urban Outfitters (they were my gift to my bridesmaids)
Melissa- my hairdresser was also a guest at my wedding so she helped with the transition from up to down and it was actually very easy and quick!
Sarah- Lillian Lottie was a part of the wedding giveaway contest that Ryan and I were blessed to win. We are forever grateful!
Leslie R- the bowties came from an online store called the Tie Bar, and we were really impressed with their customer service
Again, thank you all so much for the sweet words! I can’t believe it has already almost been one year, but it has certainly been an abundantly blessed year.
Hi Jenna,
I don’t know if you’ll get this or not since it’s so much later than your post, but I would love to talk to you about featuring your wedding on my blog. I’m writing a book, and blogging, about Christ-centered, gospel-proclaiming weddings. If you are interested in talking with me some about your wedding, I would be so grateful. You can contact me via my website: http://www.catherinestrodeparks.com.
Thanks!

Hey there!
I was so encouraged by your wedding and we to were thinking of using “beautiful” to walk down the isle to as well because I love the parallel it draws to us being the bride of Christ. I have a quick question for you, I love love love your dress and have been trying to find one. I was wondering if you would be willing to sell your dress? Let me know :).
Love your wedding, although I have to know where you found those little vintage frames for the table numbers. I have been looking at any antique mall I find and online and am having troubles finding these for my wedding which is in June. I would greatly appreciate it!!
Lynn,
I’m sure I am way too late for this to be of any help to you, but my little sister has expressed interest in possibly wearing my dress one day so I’m holding onto it for her. I agree with you about the song– I’m glad you see the connection!
Danielle,
I found the vintage frames at antique stores in AZ and TN. If you live close to either of those places, let me know and I can try and find the information for the exact stores. Hope this helps!
