I have such a gorgeous spring wedding to share with you guys today! Lots of pretty colors, personal details, gorgeous ceremony location + beautiful photos from the lovely ladies of Joielala Photographie. Jami + Eric were married at the San Diego Botanical Gardens last month and their wedding is just the sweetest. Thanks to Heather and her team at Amorology, they helped Jami + Eric’s vision really come to life. I LOVE all the little details that really made this wedding about the two of them. Best wishes to the happy couple!
What song did you walk down the aisle to? Our friend, the fabulous Collin Elliott played the guitar and sang at our ceremony. While my dad and I walked down the aisle, he played an instrumental version of “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.
Most memorable moment of your wedding day? The most memorable moment of our wedding day has to be when we finally got to share our self-created vows with our friends and family. As I mentioned, we wanted to have a personalized, creative and fun vibe at our wedding – so Eric created our vows to fit our lives and wrote them in a Dr. Seuss style. We kept the details of the ceremony a secret, so when our officiant read them aloud we could not stop smiling and the laughter and response from our friends and family was awesome! The ceremony definitely set the tone for the rest of the wedding – fun, happy and loving life!
From Jami, “Eric and I wanted our wedding day to really represent us and to also have a creative and unique feel to it. After thinking about our hobbies, interests and joys in life, we decided that we wanted the vibe to be vintage, natural and fun! Oh, and last but not least, great food was a must! I do have to say that our wedding coordinator, Heather and her team at Amorology totally took our vision and made it come alive beyond our imagination.”
Any advice for those planning now? I know it’s not an option for everyone, but if you can, get a wedding coordinator! Originally, we were going to go without having a coordinator and just get one for the day-of. However, I started to feel a bit overwhelmed early on and decided to go for it. It was probably the best decision we made. We felt pretty busy throughout the planning process and at the same time we knew Amorology was doing a ton. I do not know what we would have done if we had to do it all on our own! Not only did they help ease the planning, but the wealth of ideas, creativity and support that we got from having them work with us all year long was amazing.
If a wedding coordinator is not in your budget, do not be afraid to call on friends and family to help! I constantly had friends asking and reminding me that they were there to help. Planning a wedding can be a stressful time, but ultimately its such an exciting time for everyone around you and your loved ones are dying to help you out!
This may sound cliche or corny, but the day really does go by so fast, too fast! I had been told this over and over by my married friends, so I was totally conscious of time and enjoyed each and every minute that passed. So, I pass this on to you – make sure you take in every moment, be present and have the best time possible!
