Today, Photographer Kate Harrison was sweet enough to send me this nearly 100% sustainable and organic wedding! From Kate, Elizabeth + Eric’s beautiful wedding was passionately crafted to be as sustainable and organic as possible (nearly 100%!). They sought out local, seasonal, organic flowers; an organic and fair-trade baker for their cake; and re-purposed many items found on the web. The results were gorgeous, timeless, personal and beautifully rustic. After a sweeping hike to the beach–nearly one mile–for their ceremony, we returned to the Headlands Center for the Arts –the perfect venue for the reception. Seeing Elizabeth hike through the hillside in her beautiful wedding dress was epic. There were so many visuals and tender moments that took my breath away; this wedding had soul. Thanks so much Kate!
What a beautiful walk to the ceremony!
Afterward the reception was at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, CA (one of my most favorite places!)

Thanks again Kate! I always love looking at your beautiful images. Check out more from this wedding on Kate’s blog. And, as a result of this wedding, Kate has started Bee Green! If you are having a wedding and consciously incorporate 5 eco-elements into your wedding, Kate will give you a discount on your photography! How great is that? Great for the environment and great for your budget :) What a fabulous idea Kate!
beautiful – and that photo with the motion blur through the door way? one of the coolest wedding photos i've seen! a true work of art!
I love that walk to the ceremony! Those photos are just breathtaking. Great idea!!!
Gorgeous!
This really proves you can have an eco friendly wedding and not sacrifice any of the beauty or details. Wow!
And that is such great incentive to add at least a little bit of green to your wedding, even if you can't do 100% like they did.
Wow! What a beautiful wedding! So unique! I think this has sent the benchmark for 'green' weddings.
This is a beautiful wedding, where are the bridesmaids dresses from?
Aw, shucks! Thanks for all the compliments! We had such a good time planning and hosting this wedding, and were excited to keep it in line with our values as environmental professionals. I wanted it to be stylish, without having a huge environmental footprint. (More details about how it all came together are on my blog: http://www.onebarefootbride.blogspot.com).
I was so excited when I found Kate Harrison, because she totally got our vision, as you can see in these photos.
The bridesmaids' dresses are from Anthropologie – rewearable, and a steal at $80 on sale!
the cake and the postcards are to DIE for!!! love creative brides!!!
Gorgeous! Can I ask if her shoes were stiletto and what they looked like?!
I am getting married on the beach and I'm struggling with what shoes to buy…..can't wear flats!!
@ Anon: I was a two shoe bride: sparkly flip flops to wear down to the beach, barefoot on the beach (nothing better than digging your toes into warm sand while your sweetie reads heart-stopping vows!), and then heels for dancing. Pop over to my blog and search for 'shoes' for pix of the heels.
my family makes that Point Reyes Blue Cheese! How exciting to see that it was there!!
I love the postcard themed wedding cake, the breathtaking view and the bride's lovely wedding gown matched with her flower bouquet. Such an inspiring and refreshing wedding!!!The photos look great too…
I got so emotional looking at this couple's shots. What an amazing day they planned and it was captured so, so beautifully by Kate!
Thanks so much for featuring Elizabeth & Eric's amazing wedding!! :) They are gorgeous people and it was an honor to witness such beauty. :)
The walk photos are fantastic! Love the photo of the postcards on the clotesline….leaves me wanting to know more!
Fantastic shots, wonderful scenery, exquisite details.
@ Mara: oh gosh, we LOVED your family's blue cheese! The guests are still raving about it!
@ Kate Gonnelly: hop on over to my blog (via the link on my name) for more on how we put it all together.
@ Kate Harrison: Your artistic vision rules!!!
This wedding was storybook! The shots captured the beauty and you could feel the love that was exhibited by the couple. Then, to have it an eco-friendly event just tops it off. Kate certainly is an artist!
Love the natural daylight and the landscape shots! Artful spread
love the rustic scenery as part of the compositions, the sepias and the candid shots too.
Oh wow, I love this post for so many reasons! I am truly OBSESSED with this blog, constantly scouring it for inspiration for my upcoming DIY wedding. This couple IS that an inspiration! I am full of chills looking at these shots and especially giddy because Kate will also be the photographer at my wedding, which is at the same venue (a magical place)! I can't wait, great job Kate and hats off to the happy couple!
