Real Wedding: Amber + James’ Romantic Summer Wedding

A lovely romantic summer wedding photographed by Noa of Feather love Photography. I just love her photography style – so so  dreamy. Amber also shared some details into her lovely day – thanks Amber! “I’d have to say, the only real inspiration for the wedding was summer. Glorious, sunshiny, laid back summer nights where you get together with your friends and stay out all night just because. There’s nothing quite like California summers…” I couldn’t agree more Amber!

How perfect is her dress! Just love it. From Amber, Oh Alix and Kelly, how I adore you. They were so wonderful and accomodating, and beautiful people on top of it. They have an awesome little space in LA, with racks of perfectly simple, perfectly beautiful dresses to try on. I tried on two, and bought the second. First and last store I went to :)

Most memorable moment? Saying our vows. I was so very nervous leading up to them, and thought I’d for sure mess them up. Turns out, he did :) And we all laughed and had a redo. I really loved our vows. We worked on them together and came up with a mix of things that worked for us. Things we really meant, and could live by. Things I felt were very important to voice. Because how many times in your life do you really just look your other half straight in the eye and tell them exactly how much you love them, and how there’s nothing that comes even close to the love you feel for them? Not many. It was an awesome feeling :)

Any advice for those planning now? Have an officiant you know, and who knows you. Ours was one of his best friends, and it made everything so much better. He made us more comfortable, he was at ease (or at least appeared so!), and the things he had to say about us weren’t from an interview we did the week before. I can’t tell you how many people came up to us and told us what a wonderful job he did. That was one of our big things- we wanted to have the person who married us be someone who actually cared about us. And it didn’t take much effort to become an ordained minister. Dave got his license online- easy and free!
