Romantic Los Angeles Warehouse Wedding: Lauren + Jonathan

LA Arts District wedding

We love a good rustic barn or backyard wedding as much as the next girl, but there’s something about a character-filled industrial warehouse that makes for such a cool space for a wedding. Lauren + Jon knew exactly how to juxtapose the historical setting – with lush floral centerpieces, breezy, white table textiles, and just a few touches of glamorous gold. We love how it felt like they brought a little bit of the outdoors in and that they achieved a romantic, botanical feel right in the heart of LA’s arts district! Here’s a bit more about the inspiration behind their day, according to Lauren:

We really wanted our wedding to be reflection of who we are and to celebrate those people who have had a significant impact on our relationship over the years. We tried to highlight those things with LOTS of music, and many, many details of the venue, décor, ceremony etc…

Thanks so much to Leif Brandt Photography for the gorgeous images and big congrats to Lauren + Jon on a truly beautiful wedding!

first dance

Jon: It’s a tie between seeing Lauren for the first time and our first dance. Lauren had previously recorded our first dance song. When it started playing I was stunned and it was such an awesome moment. She performs for so many, but this act I knew she did only for me.

Lauren: The Ceremony topped it all – It was perfect – We were able to share our hopes and prayers for one another – as well as all the amazing ways our friends and family have impacted us. We had many laughs and tears of joy – it blew away every expectation I had. I will never forget it.

Engagement Photos At The Spiral Jetty: Mallory + Christian

spiral jetty engagement

How many of you are familiar with The Spiral Jetty in Utah? We weren’t before today’s adorable e-session, but learned it’s a man made art structure created by the artist Robert Smithson in 1970, in the middle of no where, that is visible from the sky! So rad. It also happens to be a favorite spot for this super sweet duo, Mallory and Christian. :)

According Kayleen T. Photography, the talent behind these amazing photos, Mallory and Christian are so happy and full of zeal, they move and interact so naturally. They have such a unique style and great hair! Christian designs and builds furniture and much of their time is spent at his design studio hanging out and creating cool pieces.

Mallory + Christian have the cutest story of how they met as kids + eventually ended up falling in love! Check it out below:

I was in elementary school when Christian and I first met. I had just moved into the neighborhood and Christian’s mother came to welcome us. Christian was there too, standing shyly behind his mother. He had long hair, no shoes, and I adored him.

We shared a back fence (the perfect setting for real-life romance) and spent a few years simply as good friends and close confidants. Although, I can clearly remember going to an Explosions in the Sky concert with him and dearly wanting to hold his hand when, “Your Hand in Mine” began to play.

Years later, our friendship grew into a relationship of love and support. Christian decided to serve an LDS mission. We knew this meant spending two years apart, only being able to communicate through letters. A few weeks before he left on that journey, we went to The Spiral Jetty. The jetty itself is breathtaking and our time there was so happy that Christian asked if, over two years later, we could have our engagements in the very same spot. …We did!

Congrats, you two! And best wishes from GWS!!

Light-Drenched Desert Wedding: Briana + Jason

Jenny Packham bride

Inspired by the sun-bleached colors and palette of the desert, Briana, a Hollywood costume designer, used her artistic eye to design her + her hubby Jason’s gorgeously unique Palm Springs wedding. Working with the talented gals at Hello Gem!, the styling of the setting really reflected the couple’s midwestern roots, Briana’s upbringing on her family farm, and their love of 20’s fashion and all things art deco. The Ace Hotel provided a perfect backdrop, Hello Gem! created the dreamiest desert-inpsired florals, and Bri’s gorge Jenny Packham dress is sure to have us looking like a heart-eyed emoticon for the rest of the day! But we’re cool with that! Big thanks to Modern Obscura for the lovely photos — let’s check them out!

Don't sweat the small stuff. My brother forgot his dress shoes the day of the wedding so my grandmother and him walked down the aisle barefoot. Everyone thought it was planned! :)
