Shannon + Bill grew up in the same town and went to high school together, but the two year age difference kept them acquaintances. That is, until four years ago when they happened to reconnect through mutual friends. They were soon running together, they went to Lakers’ games together, and somewhere along the line Shannon fell for someone she shouldn’t have. Even though they were having a great time, Bill made it clear they were just dating and marriage wasn’t for him. Since Shannon did want to get married one day, she begun dating other guys. Perhaps it was her absence or knowing she was out with another guy (or, as Shannon describes it, “coming to his senses and pursuing me”), Bill invited her to his birthday party and they’ve been together ever since. :) They were married at the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach, California this summer and had a gorgeous outdoor wedding with lots of modern + eclectic details. Big thanks to Jasmine Star for the photos and congrats to Shannon + Bill!
A bit about the wedding design from the wedding designer, Melanie Furata: The design style was modern and eclectic, with peacock feathers playing a primary role in inspiration. Shannon gave her bridesmaids gold peacock feather necklaces, and peacock feathers appeared in all of the custom printed goods from Posh Paperie. Teal and mustard were the primary colors, with pops of hot pink appearing in the florals to add a touch of whimsy.
The speeches! The matron of honor speech, best man speech and father of the bride speech. We loved the speeches because they were sincere and funny at the same. My sister used a funny photo of Bill which everyone seemed to think was hilarious. I also liked that Bill stood up and thanked everyone. He is not a big public speaker so it was very sweet to see.
Gorgeous florals by Primary Petals!
Love that they ended the night with ice cream sandwiches from one of my favorites, the Coolhaus truck!
And their wedding highlights film by Elysium Productions!
Have fun and try not to please everyone. It's your wedding and you should do what you and your fiance want, not what everyone else wants. For example my parents were not to happy about having food stations, they thought it would be tacky and informal. But Bill and I really wanted food at our wedding that people liked (not just chicken, fish or steak). We won out with the food stations and people loved the food. Many people have said that it was the best wedding food they have had.

Where the heck did she get that gorgeous veil?!!?
What a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful wedding! Love Jonas’ imagery and the location – wow. Look like a fabulous couple that had the most wonderful wedding day.
I love the curtain framed look for the ceremony. What did you use as a base to hang the fabric on?? Hard to find anything as simple as what it looks like you used! Thanks!!!
