You know you love a wedding venue when you just can’t image getting married anywhere else. But you know you really, really love love a wedding venue when you’re willing to spend your free weekends (with the help of some verrry kind family members + friends) scrubbing, cleaning, power washing and, yes, even painting the space! Sound like a far-fetched idea? It’s not! It’s exactly what today’s bride + groom, Taylor + Greg, did to transform an empty parking garage into the perfect space for their gorgeous Columbus, Ohio wedding.
They tell us, We knew we wanted Brewmaster’s Gate as soon as we stepped inside, actually we really didn’t even have to step inside. When you first drive up you see these incredibly large, gorgeous arched wooden doors we were instantly impressed. Then we walked around the building and saw that all three remaining sides were filled with oversized glass paneled garage doors, again incredible. Then we stepped inside. It was untouched, filthy and raw and it had the most amazing light filtering through the glass. The most overwhelming place that we had looked at – but so incredibly stunning that our minds went running with possibilities.

Walking down the aisle! Love was an integral part of my upbringing and seeing the future potential with Greg as he stood at the end of the aisle, created this moment where my past and future collided. When my procession song “Free Falling” began, the music came over me and seemed to touch every bone in my body. As I took this step toward my future, having my father’s arm was the calming force that allowed me to stay present in the moment and just be excited. As all of our family and friends stood, it was an electric environment of overwhelming love and encouragement. I felt utterly thrilled, humbled, and grateful. I will never forget the magnitude of that moment.

We loved that our venue was raw and whatever direction we went in we didn’t want to mask or change it. We wanted to go with it, (and) complement it without over powering it. The hard part was not overdoing it. Every design element went through a process of do we need it and why.
I really couldn’t see or didn’t want to add any other colors. I loved the light, the colors of the building and the only thing I keep seeing was the variety of colors in all the materials. Metal, wood, glass and light became our theme, our color.
Early on I was told that most importantly, remember that you are planning for a marriage and secondly, a wedding. Remember to put them in the right order. There were plenty of bumps in the road for us but Greg and I grew so much as a couple during our year engagement. We felt fortunate to be able to have endless communication with friends, family, and parents throughout our engagement. It was the best time of my life. Knowing that one event was bringing all of our loved ones together, made the experience unforgettable.

Very interesting venue, with great light from all the sides, even form above, this helps a lot to get good skin colors on photos. I thin its really important for the couple to consider lighting when they chose the venue.
All that hard work was TOTALLY worth it. WHAT a wedding. Love those button favour badges, great idea. Congrats Taylor + Greg x
