Lovelies, meet Emily + Jed, a super stylish and easygoing couple who tied the knot last fall in the backyard of Jed’s parent’s New York brownstone! They envisioned a day that was laid back but filled with sentiment, personal touches, and the people they love. And that was just what they got! Guests were greeted upon arrival with hot apple cider, dined on New York pizza, and danced the night away to folk music by the Homesick Hound Dogs. Sounds like a wedding we would have loved to attend! Let’s hear more about it from Emily:
We wanted our wedding to celebrate the history of relationships – from years to generations – that had brought us to that moment. Everyone at our small wedding has played an integral role in supporting us as individuals and as a couple. Therefore, we wanted everyone to feel as involved with the wedding as they had been over the years. We envisioned a warm, personal, environment that would be a comfortable place to share with all the people we love. After that, and a little help from our guests, everything just fell into place.

Emily wore a vintage gown from Stone Fox Bride for the ceremony + changed into her mother’s wedding dress for the reception! Any brides out there wearing a vintage dress or family heirloom for your big day?
My father wrote two songs about us for the wedding. During a break in the band's set, the guests rolled out my father while he was playing piano, Jerry Lewis style. He made us all laugh and cry with his hilarious and touching songs.

Ok, I really need to stop looking at the weddings on Green Wedding Shoes as I want *all* the weddings. This one is particularly gorgeous. I Love the embossed paperwork (I have been know to buy books based only on the fact the front cover is embossed). I love the shoes, I love the very bold but incredibly awesome black bridesmaid dresses. I LOVE IT ALL. *pins everything while sobbing*

I thought I was going to lose my mind when they said this was a “New York City backyard” and then all of the pictures have a lake and willow trees. Like who has that backyard in NYC?! Then I read they had the reception at a separate location. Whew.
