Although Leah + Mikey are from San Francisco, they decided to have a destination wedding in New Mexico at a beautiful working organic lavender farm, Los Poblanos. Leah wore the most gorgeous modern gown by J Mendel, a nod to the super cool, great style we can tell these two have! They decided to make it an entire weekend affair, so they could enjoy lots of fun activities – like a bicycle/brewery tour of Albuquerue – with their friends + family. So fun :) For couples considering a destination wedding, we think Leah + Mikey’s celebration proves you don’t even have to go that far from home to find a completely unique, perfect-for-you location. Here’s more about the inspiration behind the day from Leah:
We decided to have a destination wedding in New Mexico, and our inspiration mostly came from our beautiful venue – Los Poblanos. We made our wedding about the two of us by planning it together, every step of the way. And we only had 5 months in which to plan, so we didn’t get caught up in little details. The entire weekend reflected our designs aesthetic, and our love of food, craft beer, good music, and friends and family.
Thanks so much to Pat Furey for sharing these gorgeous images with us today + big congrats to Leah + Mikey!
Of course for a lavender farm wedding, lavender bouquets were a must! Amy Balsters crafted these pretty bundles + worked some dreamy floral magic along the reception tables, too!
There are so many epic little corners of the farm. And Pat took total advantage, snagging tons of swoon-worthy shots!
When the skies parted after two hours of pouring rain, and the sun came out ten minutes before our ceremony. Also, when our bridesmaids and groomsmen surprised us with a silent disco afterparty.
Processional: Airplane Over the Sea – Neutral Milk Hotel
Recessional: If You Don't Know – Le Chat Lunatique
First Dance: Your Precious Love – Otis Redding
The bridal party was decked out in attire of their choosing. Then end result was equal parts chic and laid back. We definitely love it.
The venue’s covered porch provided the perfect spot for a romantic reception dinner.

Don't obsess over little details, hire a good photographer and videographer - that's what lasts, plan a honeymoon for immediately afterwards - even a short one, and savor every moment - it goes quickly!

What a beautiful wedding. Currently planning in Albuquerque: Leah + Mikey, did you have a DJ for the actual dance part of the evening? If so, who did you use?
we had our friend dj the reception – sorry that doesn’t help you! we talked to chris romero at cutmasters though, and he seemed good.
This makes me want to jump on a plane to New Mexico RIGHT NOW!!!!
