Though I’m always a big fan of bold + bright colors, I also have a deep appreciation for the simplicity + beauty of soft, neutral hues. This shoot, photographed by Kate Ignatowski Photography, is a perfect example of using detail + texture in place of punchy tones. The team layered monochromatic shades of off-white fabric to create a romantic ceremony backdrop + used gauzy cheesecloth as a cool twist on a table runner. So many pretty + unique ideas for you to be inspired by!
From the photographer, The venue (Knockdown Center in Queens, New York) was my inspiration + starting off point – it’s a partially restored glass factory with a beautiful industrial feel (and the lighting was amazing!). We paired the gritty, industrial feel of the space with natural neutrals, inspired by a recent trip to Restoration Hardware where their showroom was perfectly decorated with neutral shades. We rented mostly off-white decor from Patina Vintage Rentals, including an old mantle for the welcome/place-cards + favor area, a Swedish love seat for the lounge area, an old cabinet for the cocktail and cake setup, mix-matched off-white cafe chairs, + an old farm-table. It all looked so beautiful against the old brick…
Lilli from Mimosa Floral Design Studio used off-white painted tin cans as vases + an arrangement of white and blush florals. She included off-white candles on the table along with glass tea light holders hung at varying lengths over the table.
To keep with the natural theme, sprigs of mint + thyme accented the cocktails. And the beautiful cake was decorated with ruffled shades of off-white. Loving the subtle ombre effect!
Huge thanks to the talented team below for sharing this gorgeous neutral wedding inspiration with us today!

Simple and elegant. A great combination.
Wow! Kudos to the team of designers on this one – stopped me in my scrolling tracks… The draping is simply brilliant! Industrial elegance at its finest.
I love!!
I LOVE those cheesecloth table runners! I’d love to do something similar for my wedding in May. How do you know what type to get?
Aren’t they pretty, Ashley! Contact Lilli at Mimosa Floral – she is the one who came up with the concept and brought all the cheese cloth. Her email is [email protected]. Best wishes for your wedding in May!
Thank you so much Kate! That’s super helpful!
Where do you get the clear hanging balls?
Jen, Lilli at Mimosa Floral ([email protected]) owns them. I’m sure she’ll tell you where you purchased them if you shoot her an email!
