My Wedding Reimagined: Camille Styles

I’m excited to publish this post, as it’s the first in a new series here on GWS!

Since I spend so much time working with talented wedding professionals to create features that inspire and guide you lovelies as you plan your dream weddings, I thought it would be fun to mix things up a bit and get thoughts on weddings from some of my personal favorite bloggers that are NOT working in the wedding industry – well, one lovely gal is in the wedding industry but her rad blog is not about weddings! :)  I love + am inspired by all different types of fashion + design, so I was curious to hear what these lovely ladies with varied backgrounds and expertise had to say when I asked them:

If could plan your (dream) wedding again, what would you do different?

Our goal at GWS is to always find new ways to inspire you to push wedding design to new limits, so hopefully hearing from these talented ladies will help to spark even more new ideas, as well as introduce you to some great blogs that you may not be aware of just yet! Please let me know your thoughts on this series in the comments section below.

Before I introduce you to our first blogger, I want to thank all the ladies you’ll be hearing from throughout this series, I look forward to future collaborations!

If I had my (dream) wedding to do all over again…

wedding fashion style: Understated romance. A flowing gown with just a touch of elegant lace detailing is timeless, and wouldn’t compete with the gorgeous views. Strappy gold heels and a delicate crown of rosemary complete the organic-meets-glamorous look.

color palette: Olive green, white, and linen, with touches of dusty lavender, inspired by the rolling hills of Tuscany.

vibe for your wedding + reception: The day would be all about celebrating our love and enjoying great food and wine with our closest family and friends. An intimate group gather for an intimate ceremony overlooking the vineyard, followed by an abundant family-style dinner. We’d sit at long, communal tables surrounded by the people we love most enjoying fresh mozzarella, handmade pasta, seasonal vegetables and local wines as we watch the sun set.

location: Tuscany

venue: Castello di Vicarello is a stunning vineyard and castle in Tuscany, complete with gardens full of lavender, rosemary, and olives.

the dress: Fawn by Monique Lhuillier is understated, flowy, and feminine. The touch of Chantilly lace at the neckline adds just the right amount of romance to an otherwise simple gown.

the shoes: A simple dress lends itself to glamorous shoes, so I would wear strappy gold Jimmy Choos. The cork sole is a playful nod to the vineyard venue.

the invites: There’s nothing I love more than beautiful calligraphy, so a simple design with all the details scripted dramatically by hand would be unforgettable.

the flowers: White garden roses accented with lavender and Tuscan olive branches.

would you DIY anything? These custom-stamped burlap lavender sachets would make the prettiest favor and wouldn’t be difficult to pack for a destination wedding.

on the menu:  Platters overflowing with Italian antipasti served with lavender lemonade at a sunset cocktail hour, followed by an abundance of handmade pastas served family style with local Italian wines. For dessert, a towering white cake adorned with lavender and olive branches would be the perfect sweet treat to end the night.

any fun activities at the reception? An unforgettable night of eating, drinking, laughing, dancing, and taking in the amazing views.

dream honeymoon: This is one area where I wouldn’t change a single thing from my real wedding. After our brunch reception, we hopped on a plane to Italy and spent a week swimming, sunning, shopping and boating in Capri, followed by another week in Rome. It was the most romantic honeymoon, full of glamorous hotels, gorgeous views and the best food I’ve ever eaten.

Thanks so much Camille!
