My Wedding Reimagined: A House in the Hills

This week on My Wedding Reimagined we are chatting with the lovely + always stylish Sarah from A House in the Hills! You might also know Sarah as one the the talented wedding photographer with Birds of a Feather as we’ve featured her work here on GWS quite a few times! :) Her lifestyle blog, A House in the Hills, is one of my new favorites. I love that she shares healthy + yummy recipes, fun fashion and great travel posts – and all with gorgeous photos! We shared Sarah’s intimate wedding on GWS last year, so I thought it’d be fun to catch up with her a year later and see what she would do differently if she had the chance. :) Thanks for stopping by today Sarah and dreaming weddings with us…

I LOVED our wedding – it was perfectly romantic and exactly what we wanted our wedding day to be. There’s absolutely nothing I would do differently! But since we eloped and skipped the whole shebang there are still fantasies of another wedding floating around in the back of my mind. One that involves long rustic feasting tables covered with candles, organic decor, and colorful florals. A night with all of our friends and family joining us under the stars and cafe lights, listening to great music, eating incredible food and dancing until our feet hurt. I’ve been to enough weddings to know that all of the little details are the icing, but the people and love is the cake. So we wouldn’t need much, just everyone we love in one place celebrating with us. That’s my alternate universe wedding. And who knows, someday we may have it and call it a vow renewal!

your wedding fashion style: My wedding style was girly and fun. I knew I wanted to wear something that I’d never have the chance to again, to go a little bit over the top. My Monique Lhuillier dress was so whimsical I knew the minute I put it on that it was “the one”. I loved feeling glamorous but not stuffy, elegant but still ME. It was the perfect dress!

color palette: creams, blush tones and gold

shoes: would be sparkly, strappy and comfortable…these miu mius above are close!

invites: would be a luxuriously thick letterpress on cream paper with gold foil & clean/modern design

florals: my wedding bouquet truly was my dream bouquet, I wouldn’t change a thing!

on the menu: vegan, farm to table cuisine served family style at large feasting tables. My dream food would be similar to the vegan dishes I enjoyed at Hartwood in Tulum – some of the best food I’ve ever enjoyed!

dream honeymoon? We’re still saving for our honeymoon – and high on this list is a stay at the Four Seasons Bora Bora! I dream of waking up in a hut over the water, jumping in for a swim and then spending the rest of the day lounging around with my handsome husband. I’d love some spa pampering to follow up a paddle boarding lesson.
