Friday mornings call for something sweet, so Rachelle + Zach’s unique + creative summer camp wedding hits the spot, and gives us something pretty to dream about as we head into the weekend! Their wedding was an intimate affair – just 50 of their closest friends + family were in attendance. And everyone traveled in from out of state, stayed in cozy on-site cabins, and enjoyed a full weekend of festivities. Below, Rachelle shares more about their inspiration for the day:
We started with our love of the outdoors and spending time with those we love most. What better way to combine those loves with a summer camp wedding? We loved the idea of a whole weekend to share and celebrate our love with our family and friends. (The vintage camp inspiration and Wes Anderson inspired quirkiness were an awesome bonus!)
A huge thanks to Hey! Party Collective for the super fun design + Jesse Brantman for these lovely images and congrats to the happy couple on a perfect day!
We’re over the moon for the florals from R + Z’s celebration, starting with this ultra-cool, textural bouquet. Lale Florals knocked it out of the park + they agreed to share a little bit about what went into this wedding’s floral design: It’s always a gift to work for couples like Rachelle and Zach who confidently let their vendors explore the best creative options for their wedding day. With this flexibility and the creative guidance of Hey! Party Collective, we were allowed to run wild with tasteful camp themed floral concepts. And run we did! We foraged all over Colorado to find local and seasonal foliage, textures and berries. The vines, pines and greens we found combined with a large variety of Indian summer blooms made for explosively textural and eclectic designs. Flowers ranged from roses, ranunculus, pin cushions, protea, succulents and air plants. To follow with the camp theme, vintage binocular cases were collected from Denver’s antique row on South Broadway, and after being waterproofed they made for great, unexpected vases.
Instead of a traditional processional, the whole wedding party paraded down the aisle together with a flag, guitars, and tambourines. Rachelle walked down the aisle with her sister, while groomsmen played their guitars. All guests each got a small musical instrument to play when the couple were presented as husband and wife.
Jesse Brantman says, It was so exciting to hear the sounds of bells, chimes, whistles, drums, and cheering rise up in the air at the end of the ceremony! So fun, right?!
For both Zach and I the most memorable part of the day was our ceremony. We had parade for our processional and my sister walked me down the aisle to my best friend. We were both so happy we couldn't stop smiling/crying tears of joy. Our family and friends made the day so special being involved in so many of our wedding day details. It truly was amazing.
And love all the sweet camp details seen throughout the reception! Shop this fun look below:
Take time during the planning process to enjoy each other. Take a break from planning every once in a while. At the end of the day, the wedding is about the love you have for each other and sharing in that love with those you hold dear.
