Modern + Moody Wedding Inspiration Featuring a Gray Tulle Skirt

Modern Spring Inspiration

Lush florals, a moody + modern take on a spring-inspired color palette, a clean white backdrop, soft ambient lighting… All of this adds up to one insanely gorgeous styled shoot, featuring real life couple, Adrienne + Mikail. The two met in the restaurant world a little over four years ago, at a restaurant managed at the time by their now wedding planner (funny how things work out, right?).

Ren at Studio 29 Photography + design teamed up with designer + planner, Midwestern Bride, to bring a sort of sultry spin to the traditional spring wedding. Taking place at Chez, an event space in Chicago, the team wanted to play off of the concrete and industrial interior, with bright pops of yellow and orange, AND a gray tulle skirt. Incorporating the couple’s foodie beginnings, they mixed in little accents of fruit into the tablescape and on their darling drip cake.

Let’s see all the romance, shall we?

How cute is this drip cake by Yield Bakehouse? We especially love that it’s been topped with macarons, meringue, and seasonal fruit!

A few parting words of advice from Ren of Studio 29 + Ashley of Midwestern Bride : Tell your own story and do not fall into the trap of what happens at weddings. If you don’t walk through the door and feel that your story is being told and being done so in a way that is true to you, then you have only replicated each and every other wedding day. It doesn’t have to be a completely new and never seen before concept, it just has to be your own.

We wholeheartedly agree! Thank you to the incredibly talented team behind this shoot for putting together such a dreamy concept.
