With today being Mardi Gras, this masquerade engagement session seemed pretty perfect to share. :) Imagine a beautiful girl getting ready for a masquerade ball. As she is on her way, she drops the invitation. A young man finds it and meets her there. They fall in love under the night sky with a glowing chandelier – without seeing each other. Until, possibly, the end!
A bit about the couple from Connection Photography: “Susan + Mike (both from New Jersey) are getting married on July 13, 2013 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mike is a singer/song writer for a band called My Name is August and they are planning to move to Nashville in the Spring. Susan + Mike wanted to do something a bit more dramatic for their engagement photos. We discovered the wonderful masquerade masks in a small shop in rural Ohio, and immediately thought of them for a shoot with Susan + Mike. The masks have music notes on them, so we knew it would be perfect! The shoot took place in a beautiful cotton field in North Carolina – Susan and Mike had always wanted to see one in real life.”
Susan wanted to incorporate her mothers wedding dress (from the 80′s!) in their engagement session somehow, so they spiced it up a bit with a vintage belt.
So romantic, right?!
Love that they did something totally different for their engagement photos!
Congrats Susan + Mike! We can’t wait for your wedding. :)

These are so gorgeous, elegant and romantic! The story is so sweet and you can tell the photographers really had fun with their creativity, so lovely. xoxo
Those photographs in the cotton are incredible – I have never seen anything like them!
I have always loved the “Masquerade” performance at The Phantom of the Opera. Really nice theme!
This masquerade engagement shot is so incredibly amazing that I’m almost without words. What blew my socks off was the absolutely unexpected appearance of a chandelier in the middle of the cotton field. LOVE!
WOW! Absolutely love these images!!
I’ve never seen so much passionate engagement photos in my entire life until know! They do really exist! It surely beats all the celebrity engagement concept ever bit time and I’m sure of that… Two thumbs up! XOXO:D
Beautiful inspiration shoot! I love the cotton field, I want to go there!
This shoot is gorgeous! I love how they told a story with the photos. The chandelier and cotton field was simply stunning. I wish we could have seen more of the grooms face but it was so great at the end when she took his mask of! Love!!
