A few weeks ago, Maps by A.JAFFE reached out to me to see if I’d like to personalize one of their Maps necklaces. The necklaces come in a few different shapes (rectangle, circle and heart) as well as silver or gold (yellow, white or rose gold). I selected the rectangle in rose gold :) For my memory, I selected one of my most favorite memories (and places!), the place where Jason asked me to marry him. So, the story right?!
Jason and I were on one of our first big trips together in Hawaii. I had been there a few times and loved it, but it was his first trip there. I wanted him to see why Hawaii was one of my favorite places on earth, so we planned a few days in Maui and then a few in Kauai. Little did I know that Jason had already been shopping around for a ring and actually brought the ring with him! He was planning on asking me during the trip since he knew how much I loved Hawaii. :) The first morning there we planned to go see the sunrise at Haleakala Crater. I had never done this before, but it sounded magical! You have to get up at like 3am to make the drive, but if you do it on your first day, 3am isn’t really that early! We made the drive and it was magical, but when we got there it was very crowded (and super cold!!)! Not quite the magical intimate moment Jason was hoping for…so, he decided not to ask then (of course I had no idea this was on his mind!)
That night after a fun day at the beach and before dinner, we took a stroll along Kaanapali beach. It was quiet, but you could hear music in the distance from the restaurants…it was pretty perfect. And after walking for quite awhile (I remember I was started to get so hungry – ha!) and almost finally making it to our restaurant, he asked me to marry him. The perfect way to start our first Hawaiian vacation together. :) Maui is one of our most favorite places and I wanted to select this moment to remember forever with my Maps by A.JAFFE necklace….
