Majestic, ‘End of the World’ Wedding Inspiration

End of the World Inspiration

We promise the title of today’s stunning feature isn’t quite as dispiriting as it may sound. In fact, the setting you’re about to see is so incredibly beautiful that we think you’ll be on board with this creative wedding inspiration theme in practically no time flat. Conceptualized by Marisa of Revel Petals, who also crafted the beautiful florals, the majestic scene she dreamt up came to life at Knapp’s Castle in Santa Barbara. Marisa teamed up with Jenni of The Blushing Bird, who styled the fashion elements and executed the shoot’s edgy, moody vibe. Jenni wanted the bride + groom to feel like the “king and queen of the ruins” and Emily Magers captured the details as that concept came to life.

Marisa shares more,  In the last few years, a plethora of movies about the end of the world have come out, crossing genres from science fiction to romantic comedy. And when we look at current events from politics to global terrorism, it’s easy to see why such doomsday concepts are so common. But thinking about the end of the world isn’t just for the clinically depressed. And it isn’t always a sign of hopelessness, but rather, a great fantasy; It allows us to simplify life and really focus on what’s most important. Of all important things in the world, I think love tops that list.

Even if the world as we know it were to end, I believe love, and its ceremony, would endure. The traditions may change, but I believe it is universal; celebrating love is an innate part of the human condition. So in my opinion, at the end of the world, a wedding might look a little different, but I am convinced there will still be weddings.

Jenni shares, The statement gold crown by Jannie Baltzer and hand-beaded crystal and mother-of-pearl shoes by Emmy London sparked my inspiration before we even had the dress, and Rue De Seine‘s Nomadic Love Collection fell perfectly into place. Topped off with draping veil, raw diamond and rough edge rings, handmade feather bow tie and pin, every detail was carefully considered to bring the look to life.

From Marisa , We imagined the world has come to a screeching halt. Population, infrastructure, government, and all the trappings of modernity have been destroyed. But two tenacious survivors have fallen in love. And in some ways, this love is more intimate, more unadulterated, and more sacred because now, human life is so rare. While no priest exists to marry them, no invitations can be sent to lure guests to attend with the promise of fine food and wine, and long gone are the bridal shops and tux rental companies, our couple is able to forage food and discover beautiful clothes left behind by stylish people, and hike themselves to a tall peak where a majestic house once stood overlooking an expansive valley beyond.

In place of vows, he’ll read her a poem he wrote on a charred piece of paper, inspired by a set of vintage poetry books he found in an abandoned library. Their reception table is a lavish spread of Persian rugs adorned with a collection of both polished and tarnished, mismatched metals they’ve collected along their journey. Blooming trees, organic spring flowers and green vines are gathered into a wild bouquet. Flowers are woven into the collar of their trusted dog. Although nature has laid siege to the structure and returned it to stone ruins, the vibrancy of our couple’s love creates a sanctified moment in time and space, where even a wild wind hushes in reverence of their union.
