Deanna + Aaron’s incredible Klondike-themed wedding in historic Dawson City, Yukon (Canada) was so uniquely beautiful and filled with the most amazing Victorian details + attire. Guests attended the ceremony in full period costume and Deanna wore a gorgeous custom-made couture corset gown. I love how they kept the theme going throughout the reception with stylistically-appropriate details, gorgeous lace textures and fun +clever table names. Here’s a bit more about the day from the beautiful bride:
Dawson City is, in it’s entirety, a national historic site of the gold rush era of the late 1890’s so the tag line “we’re gonna party like it’s 1899” was quite fitting. The location was the perfect compromise between Aaron’s love of history, my love of theme parties, and our mutual love of the North.
Big thanks to Nordica Photography for sharing these unbelievably gorgeous images with us today and congratulations to Deanna + Aaron!
The ceremony took place atop the wild and spectacular Midnight Dome, with jaw-dropping views of the Klondike gold fields, the Yukon River Valley, and the Ogilvie Mountains….
I love that the bridesmaids carried fans made from colorful peacock feathers!
Can you believe this amazing setting?! So unreal…
The guests gathered for a reception in the historic Palace Grand Theatre. Built in 1899 from the lumber of two steamboats, it remains the most opulent theatre and dancehall in western Canada and stands as tribute to the glory days of the Klondike gold rush.
Dawson City celebrates the longest day of the year by gathering for a party atop the Midnight Dome, a tradition since 1899. Those left standing after the reception toasted with beers and bubbly under the un-setting sun. How fun is that?!
Congrats, again, to Deanna + Aaron – we wish you all the best!

WOW, Lovely place. Amazing wedding.
That brides wedding dress is utterly gorgeous
I love the theme for this wedding! It was so offbeat and incredibly fun and whimsical. Also it was a great excuse to have the wedding in a jaw-droppingly beautiful location!
Love her dress and the bridesmaids!
Deanna, PLEASE tell me where you got your shoes. I love them, I need them! hahah
That is such a cool idea and what a beautiful location! I am also in the very early stages of planning a midnight sun wedding, and was wondering, what were the logistics for a reception? Was it held before the ceremony or after?
Fab theme and more unique than other trends seen in 2013 and 14!. Love the photography, dress code for everyone and the scenery is just fab. Seems like everyone had heaps of fun.
great pictures, thanks for sharing.
