Klondike Wedding Under the Midnight Sun: Deanna + Aaron

bride and groom

Deanna + Aaron’s incredible Klondike-themed wedding in historic Dawson City, Yukon (Canada) was so uniquely beautiful and filled with the most amazing Victorian details + attire. Guests attended the ceremony in full period costume and Deanna wore a gorgeous custom-made couture corset gown. I love how they kept the theme going throughout the reception with stylistically-appropriate details, gorgeous lace textures and fun +clever table names. Here’s a bit more about the day from the beautiful bride:

Dawson City is, in it’s entirety, a national historic site of the gold rush era of the late 1890’s so the tag line “we’re gonna party like it’s 1899” was quite fitting. The location was the perfect compromise between Aaron’s love of history, my love of theme parties, and our mutual love of the North.

Big thanks to Nordica Photography for sharing these unbelievably gorgeous images with us today and congratulations to Deanna + Aaron!

The guests gathered for a reception in the historic Palace Grand Theatre. Built in 1899 from the lumber of two steamboats, it remains the most opulent theatre and dancehall in western Canada and stands as tribute to the glory days of the Klondike gold rush.

Dawson City celebrates the longest day of the year by gathering for a party atop the Midnight Dome, a tradition since 1899. Those left standing after the reception toasted with beers and bubbly under the un-setting sun. How fun is that?!
