Jungalow Desert Elopement Inspiration with a Backdrop You NEED to See

Retro Jungalow Inspiration

We love a good desert elopement at GWS and today’s inspired shoot puts a whole new spin on the old classic! Incorporating jungle themes, huge palm leaves and macrame, photographer Chelsea Maras developed a visionary day with the help of a super-creative team of vendors! Jessica + Kenny are a real-life couple who happened to be celebrating their anniversary and were happy to stand in as bride + groom. Quite a fun way to celebrate, if you ask us :)

Here’s a look into the day’s inspiration from Chelsea: I’ve always been a huge fan of jungalow style and wanted to bring it into my work in the wedding world. It’s so fun, playful and full of colorful details; I knew it would make an amazing wedding theme! It was important to us to create something that was actually accessible to couples planning an elopement or a vow renewal and we wanted to find a unique alternative venue. Kelly from Maude Gypsy found the perfect spot in Joshua Tree’s The Dollarjoint Ranch. The retro style of the house begged for lots of macrame and greenery! Pamela of French Bouquet outdid herself with an over-the-top floral theme featuring bold tropical greenery and pops of color. Mod Mix Studio and From Agnes added to the collaboration with some amazing linens and macrame details. Weddings can be small + intimate AND still be stylish and beautiful. We hope this styled shoot inspires couples to think outside the box and plan a day that truly represents who they are.

Love that! SO many practical ideas from this shoot, all brilliantly captured by Chelsea Maras Photography:

We have a feeling this backdrop is going to inspire a lot of brides-to-be! The macrame is the handiwork of From Agnes, mixed with tropical foliage French Bouquet. Dreamy as ever!!

How cute is The Dollarjoint Ranch!? AND it’s only 15 minutes away from the national park. Airbnb for the win.

LOVE! We kinda have a thing for mismatched vintage chairs…especially where macrame is involved.
