Intimate Portrait Session in Death Valley National Park: Jessy + Perry

Death Valley Portraits

We are so all about the idea of capturing your love over the years (from the engagement to the wedding day to the anniversary and beyond), so as soon as we saw these love session photos from our friend Phil Chester among the epic scenery of Death Valley National Park, we were so excited to share them with you!

Jessy + Perry decided that celebrating their life + love was enough reason to schedule a photo shoot, but the fact that Jessy was also turning 30, and her + Perry’s wedding + engagement ring company, Rhodes Wedding Co, was really taking off big time (and if you aren’t familiar with their rings, do check them out!!), made commemorating this time in their lives even sweeter…

Jessy says, Death Valley was an obvious choice for us because the desert is where our love and traveling lifestyle began. We met on tour (Perry was in a band and I worked for Atlantic Records) among the vast desert landscape and dusty roads. The desert holds our beginnings, all our future planning, our dreams, everything we wanted to work toward. And now we have it (and so much more}, each other, and everything that the empty road brings us.

Phil is brilliant and we are so grateful to know him. He is the kind of person that makes you feel like you’ve know him forever. He has such a genuine and real presence. My heart soars as I see our love captured in this honest and special way.

Loving Jessy’s floral print dress? Us, too! She scored with this $10 thrift store find, but we’ve rounded up a few similar finds below for the rest of us who aren’t quite as lucky!

We’ll end this one with some engagement + marriage advice from Jessy + Perry: One of the great things about Rhodes Wedding Co. is that we meet so many wonderful couples and we get to hear their love story, and all the beautiful things that make their relationship work and make it special. A common theme with us and that we’ve seen in other love stories is to slow down and enjoy the little things together, be present. Don’t take each other for granted. Every day is special. Show and speak gratitude.

Congrats you two! And thank you for sharing your love story + photos with us!
