Intimate Portland Engagement Session at Home: Julie + Nate

engagement

It’s rare to come across a collection of photos that feel so authentic, they can only be genuine, but look so magical you’d swear they were styled. That’s the kind of quality radiating from Julie + Nate’s 100% natural and totally beautiful engagement session, captured by the very talented Phil Chester. The day started at the couple’s Portland home, as they were first waking up + starting their day. They went on to make breakfast, take a sweet bicycle ride + do some exploring along the beautiful Oregon coast. Just a seemingly ordinary day, except Phil was there to perfectly capture it all! :)

A bit more about the couple from Phil, Their love started in a photo lab. She would bring in her film to him. He would develop it. She called him “Pro Photo Guy” to her friends. He lit up every time she walked in the lab. Months went by. Awkward conversation and hellos and good byes were all they exchanged for months. One day they both built up the courage to move their conversation outside the lab, and onto bikes. They rode around exploring Portland, in areas they both had never been to. Both film photographers. Both so attracted to the way each other saw the world. Both falling in love with each other…

  1. This is really dreamy. I’m a huge fan of the Oregon coast and the beautiful forests as well. It brings me back to my vacations there. <3 I may have actually been on that beach!

So wonderfully captured. And even the intimate shots were loving and not overly sexualized. That's difficult to achieve. Good job!

  2. Wow! Truly amazing story telling! Gorgeous images!!

  3. I love the intimate shots of the couple in bed before the rest of the images. My wife and I were just talking about how much we like these types of photos. Amazing job!

  4. Amazing photos! One where the couple’s personalities and love for each other shine through! :)

  5. Very sweet idea! The images completely show their personality and relationship.
