Intimate Boho Wedding in Houston: Katie + Josh

Boho Houston Wedding

Photographer Lauren Apel‘s account of Katie + Josh’s Houston wedding was so incredibly sweet we had to share it up front in this feature! She says, There were the most happy tears at this wedding. A gorgeous Free People slip turned wedding dress. A waffle food truck serving up chicken and waffles for dinner. A lot of margaritas. A first look at the bride + groom’s first home. This day was tender, and sweet, and beautiful with plenty of gorgeous DIY details. Beautiful flower crowns galore and the raddest ceremony space flooded with natural light. One of those days you feel lucky to be a part of!

Her words give you a pretty good idea of what to expect in terms of the details, but we knew there was more to hear from the hands-on DIY bride. Katie shares, More than anything we wanted the wedding to feel like us. A representation of our love. More about our marriage and vows and promises than cakes and ribbons. Simple enough, at the end of the day we would be married, and that was just the best thing. We knew the coming together of all our favorite people in the world had to be intimate and special. So we strived to do just that.

Get ready to be inspired by the fashion, styling + overall emotion of Katie + Josh’s beautiful celebration at Ecclesia Houston in Houston, Texas!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Katie: The most memorable moment for me was our vows. I will never forget the feeling of being on that stage, locked eyes with Joshua, barely able to squeak out my vows I was so excited / overwhelmed / overjoyed. It was the most amazing moment and feeling, promising forever to him in front of everyone we love. The first look was also big for me. I was so nervous and anxious leading up to seeing Josh, but once I hugged my honey all my worries washed away and we had the most peaceful moments together. We were able to soak up the joy and intimate moments leading up to the ceremony. Not to mention we were at our home! That time was so precious to me.

Josh: My most memorable moment was definitely watching Katie walk down the aisle. In that moment, as she was walking towards me, the chaos and pressure of the day all went away and I was overwhelmed with love for my bride.
